So I've been looking at some gear for my back, (backpacks, haversacks, bags, pouches, ect.) and I'm not quite sure what to get. I have a Pacific USMC style loadout consisting of a garand belt, M1941 suspenders, USMC utility pants and shirt, USMC leggings, a pair of boondockers and an M1 helmet. (all from ATF) So what are your suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Early war I'd probably go with a haversack later in the war the Marines had a specific to the Marines pack. I would think a haversack would serve you well throughout as not everyone was outfitted with the latest and greatest. You can fine them pretty cheap on ebay.

Okay, I'll just get the haversack from ebay since they have some pretty LOW prices. It would go smooth with my other gear so That's probably the road I'll travel. Any other suggestions?

Um, could we give this guy just a general question thread instead of having multiple threads for his multiple questions?

I don't see a huge problem answering his questions where we can. Those that choose to answer can and those that it irritates would probably feel better if they just ignored his threads.
10~ You do need to start putting your questions where they should go instead of spreading them around. I and other mods have to keep moving them. It is a slight PITA.

Sounds good.
Oh, and 10target, if you have a question about where exactly to post a question, just message any of the mods or other people on here and we can point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the help guys, no other forum out there gives me this kinda help, most of them ignore me and then get mad and I get confused why they didn't help me. Once again thanks for the help, and CharleyNovember, I'll be ordering that haversack from ebay tomorrow so thanks.

Actually, by Guadalcanal most marines had been upgraded to the p41 pack. There was only one battalion (that I know of) that was still using the Marine's M1910 pack on the canal, and that was 2/8, Second Marine Division. But, they were also using the M1917 a1 helmets, so it is a cool yet expensive impression to do.

I would think a haversack would serve you well throughout as not everyone was outfitted with the latest and greatest. You can fine them pretty cheap on ebay. I'm not so sure about that. From photos of Marines throughout the war, I'd definately say the 782 pack would be the most common. Actually, by Guadalcanal most marines had been upgraded to the p41 pack. But, they were also using the M1917 a1 helmets, so it is a cool yet expensive impression to do. That's what I understand as well. For most USMC impressions, you pretty much need the 782 pack. If you are on a tight buget, you can get away with just the upper pack for the field, but I would try to have both upper and lower in case you ever need the full setup. -Shawn

I represent the 6th Marines at Tarowa. I was going to to 2d Battalion but not enough gear for it.

For the same price, I would go with WWII Impressions or ATF (depending on which variation you want). With the exception of the stuff ATF has made, most Chinese stuff is pure crap. I represent the 6th Marines at Tarowa. I was going to to 2d Battalion but not enough gear for it. I would recommend researching that impression until you think you have exhausted all resources and then research it some more. If the 6th Marines didn't have it at the time you are portraying, don't use it. Also, by the time of Tarawa, the P41/782 pack would definately be the standard. -Shawn
