The scope mount screw hole can be sanded down and filled in with bondo and the scope mount by the rear sight can be sanded off. I'll show ya the work I did on mine as soon as the paint drys. I still can't get over that wood stock!

Ok so this is an Update on things I will be doing to my garand in the future (when I can earn some money and with parts I have laying around the house) 1. 6.03mm tight bore 2. (for tomorrow and after school Wednesday) Put the marushin M1 garand upper receiver on it for a better look.
Thats it for now

Has anyone found a 609.6mm (24 inch) barrel for M14s? When I convert I want to have the full size barrel.

Has anyone found a 609.6mm (24 inch) barrel for M14s? When I convert I want to have the full size barrel. That explains why Shootnscoot advertise "cut barrels". I assume the only option is to get a longer one and cut some off the end, then "crown" the new muzzle. That's an easy job if you have a lathe, not so easy if you don't.

Crowning without a lathe and a crowning tool can be done, if you really want to. The hardest part is cutting the barrel off square. The rest is just tedius. You mount the barrel muzzle up, get a ball bearing or marble of appropriate diameter. Put a piece of 600 grit sandpaper over the muzzle, put the ball bearing over that and press down, then work the sandpaper back and forth. Then repeat with finer grades of abrasivs (emery cloth, crocus cloth). It's slow, especially with a steel barrel. I've done it on a couple old rifles where the bore was worn out of round.

Well gosh, I got all excited thinking someone had actually put an M14 in a Garand stock and look what happened. Take a look at the first pick where the reciever is meeting the stock. It's a good save of a busted rifle, but it ain't the pot of gold. It looks pretty good though.

Me too, would like to get a real one sometime. I am just going to stick with a plastic stock for mine. A wood stock would just be a load of work. Plus it seems they might be a bit fragile especially in the grip area.

I put metal straps and a applesauce ton of JB Weld inside so Im not really afraid of it breaking. Then again I dont use it anymore Its really quite sad. I should sell it but I really dont want to I dont know why.

Well sounds sturdy enough. I always worry with wood though ;D. So you haven't been able to get any WW2 games going down in CO?

Non. I am like the only person in Colorado that has any intrest in it . Now I have a garand, M1919, M1911, M14, SR25, AK, and an M9 and soon a RAtech M14. On top of that I have Modern loadouts for each gun. Even the Garand has a Modern Loadout. I have been trying to get a game up but noone cares. The best turnout I have had is 3 people. All american.
