Knocked this up yesterday with my MP001 when I was a bit bored. The upper handguard could do with being a bit thinner but I was worried about splitting the wood. Just gotta stain and spray the bits now.

Hey thats gonna look pritty nice. That Mp001 stock does look very enfield ish. Im looking forward to seeing the end result. Infact this is a really great project. Cosmetically are you going to do anythign to the bolt assembly. Also it looks like it would be quite easy to reshape the rear portion of the stock. Simply cut off the top of it to lower it then fill it in with expanding foam and cover it up with apoxy putty and sand down to shape. Wow this is gonna be great to watch progress. Looing at this picture its easy to see the Mp001 being an Enfield. Heck depending on your end result Maybe Ill try this....ooo and I could finally put that British CBI Riflemens impression together I have been wanting to do. TommyGunner

Slick that's a very simple but impressive effort at a visually enhanced replica without spending big bucks or investing a great deal of time. Please finish it off with the matching stain and share pictures of your end result as it might further encourage others.
I know you aren't finished with it yet but obviously a few additional minor enhancements could do wonders to the end result. Incidently you can come close to matching the Mp001 finish with brown shoe polish which is generally available and actually works and looks pretty good. For a better more authentic finish use linseed oil but be careful with the rags when you are done as they can be self combustible. (Once finished Store them outside in the elements until they have dried and evaporated and hose them down before throwing them out.)

Wow Nice work. Its a cheap, simple, good looking Airsoft British Rifle, what could be Better. What did you use for the forward sight, sheet metal?

Cheers lads, it was just a Sunday thing as the mp001 looked out of place amongst my other stuff which is all ww2, although some chap over on the uk forum mentioned about selling them as kits. Its a bit rough for that I think and only consists of 3 lumps of wood, 2 bits of inner tube and a bit of pipe, if I had a router I could make more refined handguards. The barrel/front sight is copper tube/sheet which is all I had in 13mm diameter at the time, if I did it again I`d use steel as its more substantial.

IT would be awesome of you get an actual no.4 Stock, and went off of that, because the but stock looks off, but jeeze it is looking awesome!! I think I might try that to my mp001. Nice Job!!

It easy enough to blend a little matching stain part way into the rubber butt plate to clean that up a little. My recommendation would be a $5.00 tube of carmel or butternut shade which together with a little black could blend the color into the plastic simulated wood quite nicely.
For the funds and time spent this is a very nice effort

Jeremiah; I am having problems getting on the boards on the computer at work. It just will not let me. Our home computer died just before Christmas. So it is taking alittle time before we get another one. I'm having to try to use the library computers and they suck! So email me as soon as possible.

Cheers bud, still got a bit of reworking to do. This was my first time using a router so with a bit more practice I`m hoping to get the lines better, and should be able to knock the time down to make the three main parts to about an hour and a half. I`ll probably make the mag more to the shape I did on the No.4 as well.

Looks good so far. One suggestion sand off that stuff on the grip area, I forget what you call it lol.

Looks good so far. One suggestion sand off that stuff on the grip area, I forget what you call it lol. The checkering, yep thats a problem on this gun. I was going to fill it with a light skimming of car filler paste. The gun is a Double Eagle M50 which is the only bolt action I could get hold of over here. A wood effect stock MP001 or BAR10 would`ve been better, although most common bolt actions have similar dimensions. If I made these as kits I`d have to get dimensions off the buyer first, for their rifle. I`d probably supply the kits bare with no stain or paint, that way the person could finish them off to the colour they wanted.

So does that mean that the kits would fit any rifle? As in, if I had a BAR-10, would the kits still work for it after the dimensions were given?

Yes they should do, I`d just get a few dimensions and compare them to my M50.

I'd say you would shift a lot of these kits if you end up producing them. I'd quite happily skirmish with a No.4 springer
