That looks awsome!!! i think i might put that on a crappy display shell i have. It looks alot like the paint scheme of a WW1 shell.. might have gotten the idea from that possibly. -Cary

what is the bn and company that used that style helmet? the reason i ask is that the 82nd airbornes helmet designs were so intricate and i wanna do that impression but to do it accuratly i need to know the bn and company

Battalions were red white and blue = 1st, 2nd , 3rd. Sometimes the white ankhs were half black, (to reduce visability). your going to do 82nd ab? or your just making a helmet?

Looks really good Gordak, and thanks for the info i plan on doing 504th with Red here. We were going to make a normandy pathfinder impression.. but we wont have the money for a eureka... so... maybe. Like i said though looks good -Cary

Like i said though looks good -Cary I got to play with a eureka last night! Anyway, why not do Sicily or Italy, where ALL of the 504 fought, instead of the maybe 50 guys that jumped on D-Day? No trying to demean those 50, mind you... If you can't get a eureka do a demolition or security team member impression, those are easy.

Gordak... sorry not to bring back a dead topic but, I just remembered... that helmet is only really accurate for Sicily impressions... I saw pictures of you wearing it in the snow at like a bulge event and that is actually incorrect... not to sound like a jerk or anything... From what i've seen they had OD M1 helmets in the bulge

LOL, did you see I was carrying an m249 Saw too?.... (we called it the captured nazi secret weapon) you got to find something to do with all that spare time , that was a modern game, with m16s and ak47s, we just wore our ww2 stuff for fun. BUT rememeber, there was snow in the mountains of italy. 504 were stuck on a mountain frezzing their asses off during the battle of San Peitro, yes wearing the same helmets. -Gordak

Gordak, if the helmets are that rare and took so long to find photographic evidence of (Only known photo) are you sure you and Nimlas are comfortable depicting them? I would think it would probably be keeping some folks up nights imagining your group wearing them. LOL They've probably been working years to get you to stop! Please accept that I am joking.

LOL, well aside from having only one photograph of the helmet, we have a bunch of originals in peoples collections, we had already done the helmets BEFORE we found a photo! OK NOW, FOR THE RECORD, here is the picture Butzen had a problem with... clearly my helmet is way out of place, good eyes there Butzen! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL by the way, on a more sober note, what a waste of time this was.
