If you order from EVIKE do a little research and take full advantage of whatever specials or daily offers they have. There are coupons and holly cow specials that are significant. For example right now for five dollars you can get one spare magazine on purchases of a new gun. (normally 28.00). Also there was a coupon code worth an additional 79.00 off. So the savings relative to the initial ACM BAR is substantial.

Actually quite a number of the local group are getting a BAR now. We are going to look pretty silly with 3-4 BAR's within a group of 10-15 Allies..lol

Not as silly as guys in authentic uniforms wielding M16s, M14s and AKs! Or everyone carrying thompsons. The garand and a cheap but effective and reliable KAR 98 will really be the breakthrough weapons for authenticity. In the meantime just designate a realistic blend of folks limited to semi automatic fire and rotate with each action phase so everyone who wants to can be the submachinegun, SAW gunner. Theyll discover that there are downsides to being so important to your side. If employed properly the SAW gunners will mostly be supporting the folks who get most of the eliminations.

They currently have 48 bars and 59 bar mags
In two days they sold 6 bars and 12 mags =S
Good thing i bought 5 mags before i got the gun but here's to hoping they are still in stock by the time i have the money for the bar itself

I wish the mags were low caps or at least mid caps. I got three extra mags and being high caps that ought to be enough. Eventually ill try to convert them to low caps and get more.

I don't like that they are only 180 rds =/ i'd rather have a mid at ~100 rounds then have to wind for about another 80 rounds

I'd actually be really curious to see a side-by-side comparison of the ACM and the Echo1 versions... does anyone's unit have/plan on getting on by each company? Obviously Echo1's price point and the domestic availability are a major plus, but I'm wondering if there are any major performance differences between the two (not that there should be, but you never know).

Ill certainly be providing a full report after it arrives to include Chrono and ROF as well as impressions relative to what I know about the ACM. Branding and probably packaging I suspect will be the only differences.

Glad you think so...appears to be an easy enough fix! It was also a "If I don't get it now I may never get one" kind of deal. I am a little irritated that they didn't give a price point + ETA + good pictures beforehand though. Such a fail on marketing

identical starting price as Evike but with two magazines which is noteworthy.I suspect once the initial group come out they may further come down in price although its also possible they may go up as well. The $400.00 price point seemed quite reasonable to me although it will be nice to see them eventually down at the $350.00 range. Sadly the Garand will probably be a higher price point and hence rarer rather than more common than the BAR. gor a reasoanble mix a base garand in plastic is going to be nice if anyone does it.

My new toy came in!! Package Includes a stick battery and 2 mags! Imitation wood set looks near REAL! Internals of the mag are identical to M16 VN hi caps. Uses an Echo 1 M240B gearbox

Which means if you wanted internals from a VN M16 mid would fit in their most likelt. Very nice Sean. Expect lots of attention at next weeks game.

I received mine late yesterday and was both surprised and delighted that the package included two magazines. I bought extras as well so i feel good to for now. I also wasnt sure if a battery was included but it was. Its the typical base battery and wall charger. In this case a stick battery which ill replace with something more robust. The metal finish was much darker than i was expecting although looking at other pictures it appears the same as everyones. I will lighten it i think.
I havent fired it yet. The hi cap magazines will be switched to mid caps as soon as i can do so. What m16 mid caps have folks liked?

I also just noticed that there wasnt a BAR specific manual in my box and Im not sure if that is an oversight or not? Did others recieving their ECHO 1 BAR get a manual?

Same here, I had no manual. No a serious issue but I already hate the mags, all feed strange, when a force feed a midcap's nozzle into the BAR it functions far better. I used it today at a skirmish and ammo count was pathetic. The range is AWESOME!! Double most of my AEG's and my Thompson

Man. I am so disheartened. Everybody and his sister is going to own one of these things. I'm not going to bother building my steel bar. Does anyone want to by a box of real steel parts? I have the complete gas mag, flash hider, bipod, bakelite stock with all the metal, wood forarm. I also have a usable rear sight. I'm selling.

what do you mean by ammo count being pathetic? I'm not familiar with that phase. Missfeeds? I find the magazines hard to remove and replace. like a lot of ww2 gunsthe ergonomics are horrible. the balance point on the rifle is awkward partly because the gun is long and heavy but also because the functional mechanisms are not laid out as cleverly as modern weapons. This is not a gun for most airsofters. obviously
I definitely will redo the magazines and create low cap or mid caps. I've added a nice leather sling and will do something about the dark finish which i dont care for and will re configure the battery compartment. it is a gun a fellow would want to spend a lot of time getting comfortable with and fully familiarized with in order to be fully effective with it. itwill be most effective when used as intended as a weapon designed to support others.

As in the 180 round Hi-Caps do not work well in typical airsoft combat (when they are feeding propery....when lol) when you are up against other AEG's at your regular field. For WWII airsoft it does not bother me but again, for the sake of ammo capacity, most other players have far more rounds and I cant justify buying a dozen mags!

This definitely not a great choice for use in regular skirmishes as its heavier and longer than the a n k m249 and more awkward to wield. With all that said...i love it. Jetta...since you accumulated those parts i suspect you can get out of them what you paid but otherwise id still suggest you do the homebuild using a boneyard m14 where the gun functions well and just has cosmetic issues. I find my homebuild is actually a better skirmish weapon. The other thought is to do up a non gun and sell it as a prop
The presence of these new offerings cut the value of my homebuild by 2/3rds but im still happy that i did them. I just wished id put more of them on ebay a month ago.

one of our ABLE company members made low caps from I believe were m16 20 rd mags that he seated in the shells of real magazines. they appeared to work well throughout yesterdays action. Ill get the exact info from him and post.

That sounds real promising. I imagine real BAR mags are probably fairly spendy but if packs of the VN low caps or mid caps can be sourced inexpensively, hopefully one can be under the $28.00 price tag of the ECHO mags although frankly given the low production volume the $28.00 price tag seems reasonable. I fired my ECHO BAR extensively today and it is a strong performer. The hop up is precise, their is oodles of power and together with the long barrel contributes to a sense that it kicks them out there pretty far. The large hollow muzzle generates a distinctive and loud report which I like a lot. I attached an M1 carbine flash hider to my ICS Grease gun and created a significantly louder report from it as well.

Obviously plastic housings is not a concern. If i can source five to seven inexpensive BAR mags this gives me a new project.

I recently visited a local airsoft store which got the BAR in, recently. (Also the SOG-68 but that's a different war of it's own)
So after staring at it for about 2 minutes, this very large guy walks up to me. Now, I'm not in the best of shape myself, but this guy was easily 3x the width and height of me. And he reeked.
I was with my friend and I was telling him about the gun being "so good". The guy then came up behind me and the following conversation occured.
Guy: Dude. That gun is so gay. Me: What? Guy: It's so gay. Me: How? Guy: It like, shoots all over the place. Me: Well, it is a support weapon. Not too big of a deal. What else? Guy: It's bipod swivels all over the place. Me: That's how they were designed. Look, there's all types of knobs and what not on the bipod to tighten it. Guy: It also allows no attachments. Me: IT'S A WORLD WAR 2 RIFLE. It doesn't need attachments! Guy: Well, I mean, could you imagine if you could put a Polar Star system in it? It'd shoot as fast as the BAR in [Call of Duty] World at War.
This guy almost gave me an aneurysm.
