I think the ICS is selling okay (hopefully) as they seem to be holding their price at around $400.00. That is actually up from the release price I got thinking I was probably paying a premium to get it early. The fact that all news about the GnG seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth is disconcerting. As mentioned many times elsewhere i continue to be thrilled with my ICS but would buy a GnG as well. It was fairly easy to cosmetically redo most of the things about the ICS visually that were off. I was hoping that the GnG would be out and I could do a direct comparison.

There was a time when it looked like the GnG would come out before the ICS. I am really confused why its release has been so slow to occur but thrilled that at long last it is perhaps finally going to be available. In those photos the gas assembly and sling hardware look much improved over my ICS, the stock finish looks good as does the parkerized grey. The springfield in a CO2 set up might actually grab some of my money as well if it is a reliable, strong shooter. Not at all crazy about the wood stain finish on the 1903 shown but that is easily changed. Interesting that there were no details on mag capacity, performance etc. I am still concerned about the rumors that the Garand will be an internal highcap unless that means it will be top loading which would be quite cool. Likewise it would be nice if the Springfield could accept a few BB charges from the top to finish out whatever CO2 capacity the magaine can hold.

I also noticed some WWII touches like a bulbous WWII clip latch (as opposed to the marushin or m14 type) and a stamped trigger guard. It appears to be very close to the RS.

In the pictures you can't tell if the locking lug is the early war single slot (which would be nice) or if the handguard clip is the stamped or machined piece. Site locks would have been cool (of course at this stage we are just nitpicking). It looks fabulous as shown and if it performs as well as the ICS and is pricd similarly I will have one as soon as it is possible to do so. The Springfield interestingly has the pre war front stock band but the M1903A3 late war handguard and resight. This replicates quite nicely a midwar WW2 armory update. The front stock bolt seems a bit oversized but again a nitpick. The prewar straight stock was classic and my favorite. Many M1903 buyers will want to add a scope and denote it an M1903A4 SNIPER variant but in fact virtually all (if not all) of them utilized the C stock layout not the scant or straight stock.

One of my favorite projects are aging otherwise pristine new airsoft guns. The Garand is especially well suited to artificial aging as there were interesting and fairly consistent patterns of aging on the garand which began and rapidly progressed as the rifles were fielded. Without a good aging job the rifle just doesn't look very convincing or authentic. My ICS really came to life with the cosmetic touches added.
I am really anxious to get specific and factual details about the GnG Garand especially with regard to the magazine and reload protocols. And pricing. It really will be the primary determining factor as to whether or not I will buy one (or more)

The g&g uses a 20 round midcap, I just discovered. No rattling hi-cap!

Where did that info come from? If so, and spare clips fit in actual pouches and aren't rediculously expensive that is awesome news. 10 to 12 clips and you're good to go. Never mind the question I saw your post and link under the SHOT SHOW thread. Pity the clips will be too big for the belt pouches. Still great news that it isn't a high cap as rumored.

well I wouldn't mind the internal high-cap + removable mid-cap since that would be nice for casual playing people who like high's but i prefer mids but wouldn't mind that it would be built in

Well guys, it is now nearly the end of April (2014) and still no news of this actually being available anywhere. This is so classic as far as airsoft is concerned. This thread started in JANUARY of 2013 and the offering was being discussed by GnG lpng before that. I WANT this rifle and WILL buy it when it becomes available. Patience is a virtue I know but I am OLD! Lets get this gun built!

Reports in from Asia that promoters and large retailers have received promotional copies that were shipped in purpose designed packaging is a strong indicator that this item will FINALLY become reality. Who knows what in the world has taken them so long.

Now late November and still.....no GnG Garand. good Grief! The GnG Springfields are selling but still havent seen a credible first hand review that gives me enough confidence to buy one.
