Co2 is definitely more stable and it's use is way more predictable as the fills are way more consistent then WE airsofters do it while squeazing in our own gas. Also CO2 is effected less by temperature deviations (although all gas guns are impacted by temperature). Gas guns definitely have their pluses and I for one love the louder report and blow back action but their persnickety demands and inconsistency and the fussy attention they require is just too much for me to put up with.
I'm afraid I am a dyed in the wool AEG advocate and probably always will be.

Kind of sounds like if they come out with both an M1a1 and M1928a1, in GBB, it wouldn't be too hard to swap the upper and lower on both to make a M1, but that would mean buying both! If they're made like the real steel, the receivers would not be interchangeable, and the real steel lowers were even different between the 28 and M1, the M1 only retained the switches and mag release from the 28. The M1 lower couldn't take the removable stock.

Wow! very impressive. it wasn't that long ago that CAW modified M1928s conversion kits brought over a Grand!
While I am tired of seeing Thompsons this looks very nice. a few little details are off but overall it looks real good.

Give that it is gas and the CO2 will no doubt be in the mag it probably will be a low cap capacity. The question is will they be able to fit what they need in the 20 round sized area. this initial video does look very promising and the coolness factor on this offering should be very very neat. $$$$$$$ wise I suspect it will be outside of my budget. In real life the Thompson (especially the m1928) was extremely expensive to produce. It was very heavy at 111/2 pounds and quite unweildly to carry and shoot. The .45 pistol ammunition was deavestating up close but lost inertia very quickly and really wasn't very effective beyond about half again the range of an airsoft gun. It was intimidating as all get out and very popular with the folks who carried them. I would be upset at still another Thompson offering except for the fact that we are finally getting some other weapons offerings so at this point the more the merrier.

I want an M1 Thompson, not another M1A1. I'd take it and make it a "rebuild" kind of deal with bunny ear sights and different colored wood, but still the basic M1 receiver and the 1928 selector switches.

Pretty impressive. Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh gas...burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me. Burn me three times the addiction is outta control. I will needs lots and lotsof field praise and long time durability tests to step up for one of these. As with all gas guns...very very impressive when (and while) they work.

The biggest prblem is when the parts are made out of pot metal or in general lower quality metals and polymores(However you spell it) but there tends to be upgrades if the product is popular enough. I believe that while WE's have a high to moderate failure rate on rifles, most of their rifles have aftermarket available to replace the broken bits with stronger bits "thanks" to RAtech. According to the article, it will be made with "Of aluminum alloy" so helpfully it's more durable then their aegs especially concerning the barrel to upper reciever failure that I hear so much about =P
There are stock GBB's that can last a while but they can cost more or people just get lucky too

Airsoft manufacturers simply use too low quality materials for the job.
