Mine hasn't jammed in a long time since I took out the AR latch and put in a ABMosfet , What I used to do to un-jam it was remove the trigger guard and use my pinky to push the selector lever up to auto and the fire a few times. The issue was that the selector lever would position itself in such a way that would stop the trigger contact from completing the circuit. This would happen if you fired too quickly in succession and/or did a half pull of the trigger causing it to stop halfway.

That was exactly my problem, and I didn't want to have to dissasemble the rifle to fix it. It took a bit of fiddling to get the arm to align properly with the rear bolt, but now that it is, it will always engage full-auto when locked back. Much easier to clear a jam, and to get out of a jam in a game against modern guns!

Having trouble wrapping my ead around a full auto Garand but I understand the motivation. Obviously if you're using it full auto you're no doubt using the m14 mags in games as the 12 round, flush mounted clips would empty in three or four bursts. I found some mid cap, short M14 magazines being offered from MAG. These hold 70 rounds and work great. They do protrude a bit below the stock but are far less intrusive than the full length M14 magazines. Im sure they are available elsewhere but i bought a couple four packs from EVIKE.

2nd Bat, If I'm following this correct, going to Full Auto is the immediate action drill to clear the Garand if the trigger selector seems to run afoul during semi firing. By going to Full Auto, you are able to remedy the malfunction and then resume the semi cycle of fire.

Maybe it explains the occassional trigger frustration I have had. Once in a blue moon Ive had some of my garands go "click click instead of firing. i pull out the receiver group, re attach everything and then it works fine. I never have been able to figure out what was going on. Frankly im still confused? I always assumed something was rubbing on the stock or something.

Its an issue with the gun not fully cycling. There is a peg on one of the gears that trips an arm on the fire group on the side of he gun, to break the current after one round fires. Its a case when that peg doesnt fully go past where it needs to and keeps the arm actuated, preventing the electrical connection from beig made again. All you need to do is advance the gearbox by just a tiny bit to get it to fire again, and hats where full auto selection comes into play.

This solves a long standing mystery for me and i am most grateful. Wow how could i have not figured this out? Obviously another solution is to simply freeze the switch permanently (actually it could easily be undone) in full auto and then through simple trigger control fire semi auto. I find with an 8.4 battery thats very simple to do and even with a 9.6 is quite manageable.
This also would eliminate the electric arching that i understand occures on aegs in the semi auto mode. An added mossfet eliminates it. Browniens solution however is the coolest approach. Incidently i must have always been good about my trigger pulls being complete or not trying to shoot too fast as it has been extremely rare that i experienced one of these "hang fires". when i did i never knew what was causing it. I simply disassembled, reassembled and somehow it magically was fixed. I always thought something hung on the revised stock. This is great insight.
