Not sure if there's already a thread on this, but here it is: www.gmj-web.com/ST-Mosin-Nagant-Gas-Rifle-(Real-Wood)-p-11691.htmlshop.ehobbyasia.com/s-t-mosin-nagant-gas-rifle-real-wood.htmlOn the first website, it's $150.00 plus $46.00 for shipping, and on the second one, it's $285.00 plus $88.00 for shipping. My question is, despite these huge price differences on both websites, is this a clone of the Matrix Mosin-Nagant available on evike? The review for the Matrix Mosin-Nagant (which is abs plastic) is pretty good. Or is this S&T version (which is full metal and wood) just a "too good to be true" deal? Are there any reviews on the S&T one? I haven't found any. Any input on this would be appreciated.

The S&T version sucks, watch Jarek4's review on youtube (I think that's his name).
They are all clones of Zeta Labs

He reviewed the Accuracy Fire Nagant though, not the S&T.

Ordered this rifle on Tuedsay. According to tracking, it should get here by tomorrow. I plan on fielding it on Saturday. Would anyone care to know about this rifle?

Alright, awesome! Will definitely do a review after it is skirmished with on Saturday. And thank you 2nd Bat! I also got the SRC Tokarev in the mail the other day, and I love it. Can't wait to add the Nagant to the arsenal!
Soon to join will be that Matrix Lee-Enfield, if it's any good, of course. There seems to be a lot of confusion as towards the performance and FPS of it, so I'm going to wait for info on it.
So far, I have a completed American paratrooper impression, a completed Nazi SS impression, and a completed Soviet impression. Next on the list is going to be a 7th Armoured Division "Desert Rat" impression. Can't wait to start!

My dad ordered this rifle off of the first link I have on the first post of this thread (gmj). I recommend selecting the express shipping service, because by surface mail, God knows how long it'll take to get to you. Alright, on with the review. Unfortunately, I was not able to take pictures, since I skirmished it only a day after receiving it, and because since it is my dad's rifle and he did not stay playing airsoft the whole day, I didn't get a chance to snap some pictures. That, and the majority of the time he was present with me airsofting, we spent tweeking the rifle and testing it up to good standards. I will try to post pictures in the near future, depending on how soon I go to his house.
The gun came in a very nice box, there is no way it would be damaged during shipping. The package included the rifle and the ABS bayonet only. I must say, this rifle is ONE BIG mother effer! It is identically long to the real steel (we also have a real steel Mosin, the sniper variant). You will not be able to place the bayonet on without removing the orange tip, so we took it off at the field.
The rifle's wood finish is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The wood, and the contribution of the full steel parts, weigh this gun (using my best judgement) at about 7 lbs. It will start to feel heavy after aiming it for awhile. It is also the correct color of wood. The rifle takes a real Mosin/PPSH sling without a problem either.
The loading mechanism is VERY TRICKY! Take note of this if you plan on purchasing this rifle. The internal "magazine" is accessed by turning the gun over and pulling the metal tab that in real life would hold the 7.62 x 54 mm rounds (God, I wish I had pictures..). Once the tab is opened, a plastic gear that acts as a wheel needs to be wound all the way back. There is also a red string that needs to be IN THE MIDDLE of the gear wheel. We noticed after a while that it was caught on the groove of the gear, and the whole time we were winding it back! Thank God though, the string is very strong and didn't pop. Anyways, after the gear is wound back all the way (pay very close attention here), the BBs go into a hole located ahead of the gear. FEED THE BBs IN, AND THEN TILT THE RIFLE FORWARD!! We had loaded this rifle without tilting it forward for a while and we were wondering why it held so little rounds, when the description said it held about 13. Tilting the rifle forward will make the BBs go forward and towards the hop-up, creating extra room in the canal for the rest of the BB's. Eventually, after filling it up, the BB's will stack on top of each other. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS! Those BB's that are stacked will not be part of your load, and I'll explain why. Once the canal leading to the hop up is filled, a small latch in between the gear and the loading hole has to be pressed in order for the BB's to be loaded into the hop-up. Think of it as an L- shaped figure, when the latch is pressed, the ones in the canal get fed, and the ones stacked won't, since the latch activates a pin that pushes them in the hop-up.
Once the latch has been pressed, the tab can be closed. The next step is to pull the bolt back, which reveals the gas valve. Once the bolt is pulled back, MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT SLIDE FORWARD! This will load a round into the hop-up, and you still need to gas it. So you'd have to pull the bolt back again to gas it. Guess what happens when you push it forward to shoot... You load another BB into the hop up and you'll have a double fire. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH THAT! Another thing to be extremely careful with goes back to the gear that needs to be turned to load the BBs. Once you have the rifle loaded and the latch is pressed, DO NOT TURN THE WHEEL BACK AGAIN AND TRY TO PUT EVEN MORE ROUNDS IN IT! Because when you load it again and press the notch, it'll load more than 1 BB in the hop-up. We made this mistake and like 5 BB's came out with one shot. Last time I checked, this is a Mosin, not a shotgun.
We loaded the rifle with .25s and propane gas. A note, you WILL have to adjust the hop-up upon receiving it. The hop-up is adjusted with an allen key, by turning an allen screw which sits on the receiver under the trademarks. I have to say, WOW! When loaded correctly, this rifle is ON THE DOT ACCURATE! We were hitting these small, metal targets our field has as a practice range from a very nice distance. Not only is it accurate, but it hits hard as hell too! The chrono at the field was broken, but I can safely assume that it was shooting at around 420 fps! The rifle can hold I would say under two loads of BB's (around 22 shots) before you have to fill it up with gas. Hopefully, you were able to fire off that last shot before the gas ran out, because then, you have no other choice but to double feed. One thing that sucks is that the bolt only goes about 1 1/2 inches back. On the bright side, however, the bolt is very easy to pull and very smooth.
Now, for the good stuff. My dad got a total of 5 head shots throughout the three games he played (and then he left). I witnessed only one, because he stayed back for the most part while the rest of us advanced. He got a guy dead center in the glasses who was peeking his head out through a very narrow opening on a bunker. Beautiful shot, that's that Vasili Zaitsev type of stuff! It may sound too good to be true, but it's 100% true. I guess that long barrel really gives that accuracy!
I was extremely worried and anxious when my dad told me he had ordered the gun after showing him the website for it. Everyone's been either warning against it, or there isn't any info on it at all. Well, as the guinea pig. I'm here to say that I had a very positive experience with this gun and that I recommend it highly! I can't wait to have it out on the field again. Guys, don't hate me because of the pictures, haha. I'll try my best to get some ASAP. Again, very happy with the S&T Mosin-Nagant!

A long barreled gas gun will often shoot at a higher FPS with heavier weight BBs than it shhots with lighter BBs. This is counter to what typically happens with an AEG or springer. The reason is the miniscule time spent travelling down the barrel is slightly longer and creates greater pressure from the newly released expanding gases at the muzzle. This is good and this is bad. You obviously enjoy greater range and better accuracy with a heavier bb at higher FPS but it means you may meet chrono requirements at a lower Bb weight indicating a safe jouelles rating only to find yourself exceeding what the field (and most players) consider safe. Gas guns fluctuate so much based on so many variables that i'm afraid i'm just not a fan. Sounds like a very cool gun though.

Yes, that, and accidentally loading more than one BB in the hop up by the various ways mentioned above.
