Alright around 10 years ago I my grandfather passed away. He was a ww2 vet and served from about 1940-1945, Bombed his way across Africa, up Italy, Romania, France, Germany then when that part of the war was over was sent to bomb the daylights out of the Japanese in Burma and Japan. His job was a radio operator in a B-24. Here he is pictured with a Chinese buddy. this is how he appears in pictures. Not wearing insignia (or flight clothes) he was a sgt 1st class. I am guessing alot of you will say guys never dressed like this and this is incorrect. Though most of the pictures I see of him in the war he is dressed like this. In Africa, Burma/China and England. However I think it would be cool to have an authentic kit that mirrors what my grandfather wore during his service in the war. My questions are. The Vest is it civilian or a military issue? It looks like an American ww2 sweater vest. The im guessing tan or khaki shirt and pants are those Military issue or civilian? I have the belt, bayonet however is that an issue machete (i know the photo quality is lacking) Is this too Flaggrantly Wrong to show up to an event with? Will be picking up a 6mm marushin M1 Carbine and M1 steel helmet. I do apologize for my lack of knowledge as I mainly focus on Axis and Soviet kits. Thanks.

The Vest is it civilian or a military issue? It looks like an American ww2 sweater vest. It could be a navy flak vest, but also some military or civilian style vest for the weather.
The im guessing tan or khaki shirt and pants are those Military issue or civilian? I would imagine those are military fatigues
I have the belt, bayonet however is that an issue machete (i know the photo quality is lacking) I'd say it's issue, but not sure if the branch would have issued it
Is this too Flaggrantly Wrong to show up to an event with? Not that it's Flaggrantly Wrong, but something so... unique is typically frowned upon, at most events they are portraying the typical million soldiers, not the one in a million.
Hope this helps!
