Never a fan of GBB anything I decided to try one of these new chinese clone auto electric pistols. This particular model is a CYMA version of the M1911 semi automatic. The idea of not messing around with gas appealed to me.
I knew the power would be low but as a backup that seemed appropriate. I bought the gun on ebay for $65.00 shipped so no huge expense regardless. It arrive within a week.
The first impression from the side is quite positive but upon removing it from the box the gun is about half again wider than an actual M1911. This is done to accomodate the small 7.2 battery which houses in the slide area below the barrel.
I charged the battery. Instructions were unavailable as to how long to charge it. The seller said 5 to 6 hours initially and then not longer then 2 hours from then on. I gave it four hours then loaded it up to shoot. The magazine slide in as it should but is thin like in a springer. It holds 30 rounds. You can set the thumb safety to full auto or semi auto. I tried the full auto and it was fun and surprisingly fast but semi auto is where a .45 belongs. It shot at a chronod 230 fps w/ .20 gram and fired quite accurately.
It could hit a guy fairly consistently at 80 feet although much beyond that they probably won't feel it. It's fine as a backup. Certainly on par with a non blow back gas gun but with less power.
I fired a hundred fifty rounds through it and decided it's worth getting a spare magazine or two for. Realistically it's lack of power makes it quite appropriate for ww2 airsoft in the role intended. At 65.00 it exceeded my expectations.
