Normally, would an NCO in the 101st Airborne have a Garand belt or a pistol belt and bandoliers and/or rigger pouches? This is obviously for one equipped with an M1 Garand. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get a pistol belt for all weapons, both present and future, or get a Garand belt for..... my Garand! My planned impression will be a Sgt, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne, June, 1944.

As an NCO a 101st sgt would be able to choose a carbine a Thompson a grease gun or a Garand. With a Garand a trooper might have a regular Garand belt or pistol belt with riggers pouches. Either would be correct. If you're planning on going with the ICS Garand you'll want to go with the riggers pouches as their clips are too tight of a fit in the Garand pouches to be practical. Obviously the regular garand belt is going to give you more flexibility when it comes to potential impressions.

Wouldn't NCOs in the infantry also have pistol belts? I'm thinking pistol belt because it gives me more flexibility when it comes to weapons. Garand? Rigger pouches. Carbine? Rigger pouches. Thompson? Add SMG Pouches. Grease Gun? Same. Will BAR magazines fit in rigger pouches?

It's not really a good idea to do that just because you want to be able to carry ammo for every weapons you might come across. I actually thought it would be a good idea myself, but it turns out after carrying all of that gear around for hours and running around you end up just ditching it anyway. When my friends and I go to the battles now, we ditch pretty much all of our gear in the first few minutes if we get into a fight. If you want to just put the rigger pouches on a pistol belt then that's a good idea, this way if you want to use a different weapon you can switch what's on your belt (just don't carry all the different pouches at once)

Personally, with all my different kits, I can loan out my M1, Thompson, BAR, and shotgun as individual kits. It also makes it much easier to switch between guns, by simply dumping one web kit and donning another, but thats my preference.

I am saying it would be economical to have one belt and if my M1 craps out on me, remove rigger pouches, slap on 5 cell pouches and you're good to go. This would all be between games, of course. If my M1 craps out on me during a game I'll just have to go with my 1911.

Being able to swap out pouches for different weapons is helpful
