The uniform stuff will do you for ww2 airsoft with our group however I can't tell you your not going to want to upgrade your uniform in the future you probally will. This uniform will then serve you as a loaner to get one of your friends involved.
The Tanaka is a gas weapon and may have some difuculty with performance in Febuary weather but will rock in spring summer and fall down here. For Germans there really isn't another choice. The TOP MP40 is about the same price but from all reports is not a great gun and will break easily. All other choices are out of your price range or are more rare.
The Cushman insignia while passable at a 10 ft distance is pretty much printed cloth not embroidered. I believe you can find better embroidered litzen and other insignia that look great for just a few bucks more. Are you going with a Cushman helmet aswell? That will do again from a distance but one day you may wnat to get the real deal.
Look at this initial purchase or purchases as something to get you started and then something you can use as loaner gear later if you decide to upgrade to more authentic stuff. This will make the expenditure of 50.00 or less that you have here worth while.

The rifle is a great pick but Tokyo Hobby concerns me as I have heard bad things. They are the same outfit as WW2 airsoft guns as warned elsewhere on the boards.

Actually John you are correct, "Tokyo-Hobby" is evil incarnate but he is looking at Tokyo-Model which is a horse of a different color- those guys are alright actually. I'll bet that their business has been negatively affected by the similar name -G

Good catch Guinness! I stand corrected. Having said that, has anyone had experience with Tokyo Model company?
