I had a brainstorm just recently and I wondered what you all thought. My friend bought a CO2 "TacForce" mac 11. This plastic Walmart gun is about $70 on most markets. Anyway. I was mostly un-enthused about this little smg and couldn't think of a reason in the world why I would buy one.... until one day I was digging through my closet and found the skeleton of my old CYMA Thomspon. The internals of this thing have been removed but the frame and furniture are still in tact. I then had the idea: what if I somehow managed to install the internals of a cheap CO2 mac 11 into the Thompson, thereby re-incarnating it as a GBBR. My idea was that I would strip it down to the bolt mechanism and the magazine catch and squeeze it into the Thompson just a little forward of the bolt slot. If everything worked out ok, the bolt would be able to function just as it did in the mac 11 body. Then, I would use a soldering tool to attach an arm that ran from the actual mac 11 bolt back along the body of the gun to the original Thomspon bolt. My only worry with this is that the extra weight may hinder the action of the gas bolt. What I want to know is this: has anyone done this sort of thing and is it even a little doable? Thanks to all! PS: my other account is tiger1elite. I had to make a new account because the other one malfunctioned somehow... if you were wondering

Mag loading? Truth be told it sounds like a nightmare conversion not worth the trouble when inexpensive Thompsons are readily available. Bottom line is they are your components and your tie is your own. Good luck with whatever to decide to do.

I wouldn't bother man, it would be a nightmare, especially so if you haven't done any conversions prior.
