Hey everyone!
Its been ages since I've been on here.
Suddenly out of sheer impulse I've been intrigued to do a Chinese impression, even though I've been completely inactive from the sport for several years.
One good weapon for such an impression is the ZB26.
...the problem with that, of course, is that the only one that seems to have entered the market is the ROCK model for $850, and Zeta Labs [who was developing a cheaper clone] has apparently gone out of business?
So, without further a due, I have a few quick questions.
1. WTH happened to Zeta Labs? 2. Are any other Chinese brands [AGM, CYMA, anybody] planning on cloning it?
...and that's about it.
Thanks!
EDIT: I may have posted this in the wrong section of the forums... Sorry if this is the case.

...crap, the Mosin Nagant rifles would also have been good for that impression. Did those go extinct along with Zeta Labs?

the matrix one is really Red Fire which isn't bad from what i've heard and seen. the only problem is the mags system with the ribbon or w/e but i believe that is present on the Z labs as well. The red fire is real wood and comes with a rubber bayonet. There was a china company making one but that kinda disintegrated. on another note, agm(i think agm) is making progress on a mg42, maybe you could look into that if you wanna run around with an mg

The Matrix one is available on Evike for... a lot less than I was expecting.
I do regret not pickup up a Zeta-Labs springer model when they were still available though.
Now I'm debating whether or not the Mosin or a Sten would be better for a Chinese impression. I thought the AGM Sten was discontinued but now apparently they're back.

I own the ROCK ZB26 and my personal experience has been very positive. It has worked flawlessly in the year I've owned it. Feeds and shoots extremely well. It is also extremely easy to work on - at least the gearbox (though I've kept her stock, excepting some minor shimming). It is also very light and this makes it extremely easy to carry about all day - something that cannot be said for my Inokatsu M60s, any of 'em. The only 'issue' is the barrel is not a quick disconnect type (though I've seen literature to the effect it is) and requires a bit of effort to remove. All in all I've been fairly impressed with her and, of course, she turns LOTS of heads when I bring her out to play with the other boys and girls; )
Thought they are no longer available anywhere, from what I heard - but perhaps I'm in error.
Glad I have mine in any event!
Cheers!

Do you only have the stock 2/3 mags?Or did you source extra mags?

My ZB26 came with four mid-cap (appx. 180 round) mags. Bought the gun/mags from RW.
God only knows where to pick up extra ones (I'm assuming that would be difficult.... ).

Well if the gun came with four magazines in the box, I don't think separate ones were ever made

Indeed - spot on. The gun came with the four metal shelled magazines. Equally fortunate is that they work as well as the lmg, i.e. excellent!
I've never seen aftermarket ones being made available. If it's true that only 200 of these guns were made, that's not surprising!
