This thread is for folks that are still working on getting a quality impression together and want to share pics of their effort so far!
Swiss, E. German or other 'Almost, but not quite There' impressions here please! That will save you from any potentially negative comments from those that are maintaining a more accurate kit.
In other words this thread is for those that the sport of Airsoft is a bit more important than historical and uniform accuaracy.

It's just we have had a rash of the '15 seconds of fame' forum flamers and we are just trying to keep that to a minimum that's all- Don't you dare think you did anything wrong!
'Sides your uniform looks great in the pic!
As I said we are very happy to have the Battlesim God himself posting here!

I like the outfit, helmutt! You are a very convincing Kraut. And that's a fine squadon of warriors you have there. (you're in command, no doubt?) Looks like you guys have a heck of a lot of fun. Where are you located? If you guys are near MN or WI, we should hash it out over Caretan sometime!
Salute!! Spirited Trooper

Honestly, I think you show that it doesnt take a ton of work or money to get an ok impression. Just dont put everything minimal.
My current kit (still not complete) consists of my belt (currently EG square open buckle, getting a Whermacht Buckle), my Austrian Y straps (close enough for Airsoft), my Original MP 28 (you read that right, the MP 28) Leather Ammo Pouches or my Mauser WWI (yep, World War One) Ammo pouches (both sets are original), my Flared East German Early Wool Pants, my Jackboots or my Brown shoes with my original WWI German Uhlan Leggings, My Officers Cap, my WWI Stalhelm or Converted Spanish Helmet, and my original German Issue shirt. Some people will say you cannot wear the issue shirt with web gear due to regulations, but this is not true. Many soldiers in tropical regions wore only the shirt, and in Florida I dont want to wear my wool uniforms and be hot and ruin them. I intend to ger a bread bag, as I also have a gasmask cannister, but it is usally inconvenient to wear. Of course, I plan to spend $30.00 and buy a reproduction of the issue shirt, as I wouldnt want to ruin the original. One of the good things about my kit is that there are no swastikas of any size, really decreasing neighbor anger when they see me in it.
It should be noted I usally go as an officer, meaning I just wear my pistol belt with my Uhlan Leggings, and lend out my Web gear to other players, along with my Jackboots.
I will post photographs soon, wearing my goggles and dust cover. I do not like people to see my face.

I want a good impression but I am having some trouble, I am getting an MP44 but I am not shore what troops were most likely to get one so I do not know what uniform to get. I will have about $300 for my impression after I get the gun, so what would be the most important items to get after a helmet and jacket?

Again I think this fits here. Just incase people think I gave up on my Kraut look. I'm missing proper pants and boots. I'll get around to that everything else is pretty much real or repro. I also have a video of me doing obscene things with the K98 but I didn't think you wanted to see that.... With gas mask on Basic hey how ya doin i'm here to kill you pose. Wait a second while I get this bayonet attached.

One giant leap in the right direction Dan If you ever need gaitors for your low boots, I've got a pair I absolutely don't need, just pay the shippin' an' they are yours.

I have gaiters I also have jackboots and I have worn them before but on all the pics I find FJ took a lot of pride in wearing thier jumpboots. These are modern and so are not correct in pattern but from what I glean a pair of British jumboots would do as they were copied from the German design. Let me know if I am wrong on any of those parts though, I'm still learning and researching. Thanks for the kind words guys.

The british actually issued the german jump boots when they could get a hold of them, but your are right, they did copy their design. Where did you get the boots?

No no my boots are modern (Magnums)not repro of any kind. In person you could see they are built kinda like jungle boots with the cloth sides and they also zip up the side like tanker boots...And work payed for them that is the best part ;D They are so comfortable I am hesitant to buy proper jump boots I will have to break in.

Hey thanks John. I thought about buying a Tanaka a little while ago for a good price but I just couldn't justify it when I owned this one. I ahve toyed with selling the K98 but I have priced it so high someone would have to want it more than I don't want to get rid of it ;D

If it's a strong shooter what the heck. There's no doubt that the right weapon really sets off an impression well. I like the vintage look to your home made custom versus the store bought brand new Tanaka.

I think after some hard use they looked pretty rough in the wood area. You can up keep your rifle in the field but some "color" and "charecter" is bound to creep in the longer you use it. Mikkel: Oh nevermind....I could strip it down and refinish it but in war it gets the used look real quick.

get a haircut you hippie... coming along nicely there. You could get an overseas cap from Zak for fairly cheap and that would hold you over till you can afford a helmet.
