CO2 generally fairs far better than green gas. You WILL have reduced fps and increased cooldown, but it'll fire. jerry, thanks for offering the US gear, I'm bringing friends who will need it. Sure thing Shifty. Just to let you know all my US gear will fit a small to medium sized dude. I have a trench coat, a HBT field jacket, a officers kakie shirt, a very small M41 field jacket about a 36R, and a 1950's field jacket which essentially the same as the ww2 version. Also, I have some wool trousers, and a pair of HBT pants. For German extra stuff I will bring a camo jump smock wool pants and a wool field hat. Glad to help Jer

I'm not trying to advertise for Chinese repro gear, but Hiki Shop has some good deals on winter gear for a German impression. I have not ordered anything yet from there, but I read some reviews in the reenactor forums which were generally positive. The only complaint I saw was that you should order a size up from what you wear because their size chart is off. People also said that the shipping was relatively fast. They have a lot of US gear but not much in the way of wool or winter stuff. Just letting you guys know so you can tell Santa what to get you, lol. But it is also sounding like their will be extra stuff around that people are going to bring too.
Cheers,
Jer

Hey Jerry, what size are those wool pants? I'm tiny by today's standards (5'7, 28" waist) just wanna know whether or not to bring suspenders/belt.

Its always a good idea when borrowing uniforms to have a belt and or suspenders. It reminds me I should send parachord with each set of trousers so players who forget to bring a belt will be able to sintch the pants. I plan to send items that are a bit on the big side so. People can put warm clothes underneath.

You probably want to bring a belt, or go homie stylie and have droopy drawers... You may be able to wear something like fleece pants under them if you need it. Cheers, Jer

Well hopefully we will get snowy dry condions on the field As opposed to wet cold. I work outside, wet cold is not always pleasant. I'm glad to hear that there will be a place provided to warm up, hopefully with warm drinks. Nothing better than a cup of hot chocolate after playing in the cold. Speaking of cold, are people going to do a period camp of some sort?

I plan on having a overall camp area set up with the warming tent. This will be centralized, but not really ww2 themed, just functional so that everyone can get setup, briefed and warmed. The German and US HQ's will be set up in their respective locations on the battlefield, and anyone who is willing is encouraged to bring period tentage and gear to set up there. Durring and between missions, each team's HQ will be the main regroup location, so we wont be going back to the centralized location except for warming up and resetting for another scenario.

What's the current estimation of bodies that will be there (including maybes)? EDIT: How would you feel about me bring my set of 5 CD's filled with American WWII music?

Yes! I was wondering about period music! I say bring it! Germans, do you have loaner gear? Three of my men have switched to German to help event the numbers.

So far: Americans -Migs and crew (4) -Shifty's crew (6) -brownien crew (5 at least) -Scottcollins (1?)
Germans Insterberger (3) Jerry (1) Issah (3?) Knights (1?)
That's it so far! I have FB messaged the 1st FJ guys, but no reply yet. If anyone knows anyone else who doesn't frequent the boards too much but still would like to attend, let them know!
For people switching sides and going German, 2ndBat has very few German items, not enough for full kits. I will take this into consideration, but there will be a system in place for evening the odds. With that said, all loaner gear and uniforms will be American! I will be making adjustments for side balancing once everyone is on sight. I have my methods, but I want to keep it on the down low for gameplay purposes.

The total head count of 24 is still very encouraging even it it's 75% US. It's a far cry from the 7-10 we've been having the last few events.
Whatever Brownien comes up with to balance out the power, I'm sure it'll be fun.
Keep up the good work Gentlemen.

I assure you all, my diabolical scheme (if you want to call it that!) will surely make this an unothodox event! I would also like to remind everyone to not forget their helmets! We may have to dodge some 88 fire!

If I can make it, which I can't guarantee yet, I can bring some extra German gear. Some SS zelts, an extra pair of trousers, a tunic or two, and some gear.

Hey Nate, just some corrections that I know of. ScottCollins is in my crew. 3 of my guys are going German. So I think the count will be 13-11, very close and reasonable.

Being new to WW2 airsoft Im going to ask some dumb questions most likely. But here is one, and I hope its not too dumb. Can we use smoke grenades in New York such as the Enola Gay or Sport Smoke TSG? Its cool to see people using them in airsoft and would add to the realism as most squad leaders would have them available for assault. I would consider getting a few if they are allowed. I also see people using pea grenades on youtube. Not sure what the laws are concerning such devices in NY, or what the rules of the field are. I probably have enough time before the event to get an order of smoke. Let me know the skinny on this...cough, cough.

It's usually up to the field owners to allow or disallow. This time of year we also don't have to worry about the leafs/brush catching fire. I agree that they add a lot to the game tactics. Plus there's nothing better than a grenade kill Here is a link for both smoke and pea grenades that I have used plenty of times. They are easy to deal with. tacticalvirtue.com/Products.html
