Before anyone asks what that is, it was a German prototype lmg that used a flywheel delayed blowback, here are the only two pictures of it i know exist Anyway, my questions are: Firstly, does anyone know anything more about this thing? And secondly, in general, would i be able to use a strafer-style gas airsoft gun made to look like this at ww2 airsoft games even though it's a prototype and never saw combat?

I doubt anyone would chase you away but my question is...why? ?? Why go to the trouble expense and effort to acquire, produce or even think about using a goofy gun no one ever heard of that was never actually used. The goal of WW2 airsoft is to recreate and emmerse ourselves in HISTORY and historical action Not hypothetical what if... I'm sure fantasymakebelieveneverhappendairsoft.com is available as a website however if you want to start up a group. For less effort and expense you could acquire or produce an Mg34 or MG 42 and would find yourself far more welcomed with most groups. Perhaps there is a motive or explanation I am not seeing?

The main reason i want to do it is just because i think it looks a bit cooler and might work slightly better with a vortex cap design like this. Also, i kinda just like flywheel delayed blowback systems because i came up with the idea independently before hearing about this gun. I'm going to start building it very soon because i have a whole lot of old pipe. I think that the top cover was taken straight from an mg42, that being assumed, i should be able to work out the sizes of the whole thing from that, though finding exactly that measurement is rather hard, so i'll just ask here, hoping someone here knows or can take it.

I have to say, that is pretty much the ugliest gun I have ever seen.

Personally I think it's fricken awesome! It looks like something out of Star Wars but it also looks hard to build, it will sure turn heads at games though. It's really up to the builder if he wants to build this or not, and I think it's also up to the builder to see if it is practical. It could be amazing or it could fall apart in his hands, and it still is a historical weapon but they where never built. It reminds me of the mp3008 but they built those in small numbers.

Unless you can fashion an ammo chamber to reflect a realistic magazine it 's just way too paintball for me and there are issues with safety and consistency of FPS for gas powered vortex type guns. Again these comments are just an opinion expressed and don't reflects what others might say at all. If you're going to extend a lot of effort on the development of an airsoft gun to group as anal about details as this one you have to realize that even the slightest departure from authenticity is going to be an issue.
