That kiss was a completely random event. The sailor didn't know the girl he kissed and she didn't know him. She was a random girl that he pulle in. Just goes to show how happy some people were when the war ended. God bless him.

At lest they found him and while it sucks that he passed as many have, we now have an inscription with name for that picture

There is a 40 foot tall statued replica of "the kiss" at the San Diego harbor next to the Museum Carrier MIDWAY. Its very cool. People stand under the nurses skirt and get their picfure taken.

There is also a similar large statue in Civatevecchia, Italy. That is the main Port for serving Rome. It's pretty cool to see it there.
