What are the prevailing reports on the redfire offerings? I ask because the prices seem very appealing.

This is better but I think they really need to learn that we need springers like this! The main problem I have with gas is that you have to carry around a gas bottle and refill it every time you are done with a magazine. Other than that it looks like a fantastic rifle

The 98k is at least a skimishable gun at a reasonable price, so it's got the Tanaka and the DBoys both beat. Still better off building a 98k springer (mine cost right around $300 in parts, materials, and upgrades, not counting the labor, which was itself a lot of fun). For those that don't have the ability to create a build or the access to buy one, this looks like it will become the go-to for those who want a battle-ready rifle out of the box, despite its shortcomings. For a $60 upgrade, the turned down bolt and PU scope copy on the Mosin-Nagant seems like a great deal. I wonder what the sight picture is-- if it's a German #1 reticle and not a crosshairs, that would be awesome. If so, once the boneyarders start showing up that would be a phenomenal springer build!

Gas is a good system but with the short bolt pull and having to keep refilling the gas as well as the bb's, I'd prefer a springer in the field. Plus, I took my 1903 to an old football field no one uses and was hitting my targets all the way across the field! Now given that in real situations, there will often be trees in the way, that distance usually gets cut in half.

I know Airsoft GI used to have a spring version of the Mosin, but it is long out of stock. With any luck, they will be added to Megastore.

So to have 33 extra ready rounds one would have to have 3 spare magazines at $50.00 each. Obviously a consideration when factoring your cost for this rifle if you intend it to be skirmishable. If truly comporable to the Tanaka worth takng a look at but a pure springer as are currently being made as convetsions would be my prefetence.
The gas do offer silky smooth and easy cocks and a nice loud report but as with gas guns more variables and potential challenges.
