Was feeling burned out with the whole WW2 airsoft scene for the past year or more. Kind of getting the spark back now. Hoping to finish up some projects I put aside. Really want to put all my effort into improving and growing the Michigan WW2 Airsoft organization. Still have my M1 Garands in the workshop 2nd Bat . I think I will still have them half built when I die.

There can't be much left to do but i suspect it is a question of functional issues with the base m14s. The build itself is quite easy. I kept four of my conversions and continue to be quite pleased with how well they work and how well they have held up. I have plenty of 12 round clips for each of them and have used them as loaner/ rental guns. The ICS Garand is very good and with a few cosmetic enhancements is fabulous.
Good to have you back in the hobby. You seem to have a decent batch of interested playersin the greater chicago area and the wisconsin folks aren't that far of a road trip. With all the weapons choices currently available that were sorely lacking when you entered the hobby it is a great time to step back into it. Get those Garands to an airsmith if need be and you'll be even more inspired. Let me know how I might be able to help.

Thanks 2nd Bat. Unfortunately I choose to go a more complicated route with the clips which is what was slowing me down. Haven't worked on them in a long time though. I was able to handle one of the ICS Garands at our last event. Definitely a very nice rifle. Other then the buttplate the look spot on unless being compared directly to a real steel one.

I remember at one time your hop up was an issue (with at least one of your Garands) qnd those are annoyingly hard to source cheaply.

Back in the day I had no idea how a hop up was put together. At one point I had no bucking in it and at one point I had no nub, which was why it shot horribly lol. What happened originall was I took the whole gun apart hop up, gearbox, etc. When I put it back together I had no idea what I was doing and left a lot of stuff out. Much has been learned since then.

I thought that might have been the case. When you first came on this site you were 14. So hard to believe! With all my conversions the less i messed with the base gun (especially its feed system) the better my projects seemed to go. The secret to selling so many rifles was there was huge untapped demand and I had sufficient funds to ramp up and do things in decent volume. Building six rifles at a time was the key. The time required wasn't dramatically greater than making one rifle. All my tools and materials were out and on hand for each step andI found myself in a groove. I also had a good place to work in and decent tools. (I burned through a lot of dremels and one sander however)
I never would have predicted I was going to sell so many andI remain shocked that it took so long for a mainstream manufacturer to come out with an AEG version of such an iconic rifle. GnG still hasn't released theirs which is just crazy.

It's really frustrating that g&g hasn't because I mean couldn't they just have built it off of their freaking m14? ICS had no long rifle to start off with, they came up with a product starting from scratch. Granted dimensions are wrong here and there but still, they are soaking up whats left of g&g's fanbase for garands. People are getting impatient and the whole situation is bonkers =S

Its odd G&G never released theirs. I am just happy we have one on the Market. I thought that might have been the case. When you first came on this site you were 14. So hard to believe! I've never attempted doing more then one at a time though I see how that could speed things up.
