Hey guys I was tossing the idea around about how to lower the ROF on certain guns like the Grease gun. Also the MG34 has a slower ROF than the 42. I think it would be cool to be able to match as close as possible the ROF in airsoft. And another thing. I think the gun should fit the normal accuracy. Like of course the sniper has high fps but long range. 2nd the Garand would come next in range. Then SMGs . Why do some people want to drive tacks at 175ft with an MP40? Lol each gun type fit it's real steel counter part in ROF expected range and accuracy. What's you guys throw at this?

Speaking purely for myself, I fully agree with the ROF desire, and have done some modding to that effect. However, 175ft is just shy of 50m, and in my personal opinion even n SMG should be accurate at that range. If you cannot reliably hit a man-sized target at 50m, you might want to request a transfer to a batallion of stevdores.

We'll I'm talking figuratively. I mean try and match the same expectations as the real deal. It would just make the game more in depth. If would give riflemen a sense of duty for longer range shots and of course the machine gun crews would def be a little more useful. Cutting back the rof on all the SMGs .

I like to keep my RPS down to about 10 for battle rifles (600 RPM), for SMGs I try to keep them down about 8 RPS (480 RPM), you can do this by a combination of motor, spring, and gearset. Makes lowcaps last longer in battle when you don't spray a 30-round burst in less time than a healthy fart.

I use a precise and scientifically proven method of working our each intricate part and detail to achieve realistic RoF fir my Thompson and MP40.
By that I mean I have a high FPS (~350) and use a 7.2v LiPo and get just about the same RoF as the real weapon counter part. Not only do I do it for authenticity but having 40 round MP40 magazines and ~25 round Thompson sticks, I need to be easy on the trigger. That, and I ahte these players running around with LiPo's, DSG's and other high-speed set ups, reaching up wards of 30 RPS, which is not only annoying but entirely impolite.

I too like the concept of attempting to sync ROF and have long advocated for greater reach out and touch someone capability for assorted weapons. The day will come when some standardization will be implemented at sanctioned games. As it is currently its tough enough to get the majority of players to switch to semi auto fire and use low (or real cap) magazines. Due to the dramatic reduction in ability to penetrate brush and the fact that each round isn't always felt I like a standardization of 3 rounds to each real. Hence a thompson should not exceed 60 rounds between reloads, a Garand 24 rounds, a mauser 15 rounds etc. In addition weapons firing rifle ammunition should be allowed a higher FPS. (perhaps 400 to 420 FPS for .20 gram) while pistol ammunition sub machine guns should be under 320 perhaps even with hop up turned off.
As it is, stubby, high capacity, full auto airsoft guns are typically just as powerful and accurate as long, heavy, low capacity semi automatic rifles and this poorly represents our efforts toward realistic action and greater emmersion. Weapons choices should come with upsides and downsides as with real weapons. This would lead to greater team tactics and greater authenticity and further distance our hobby from traditional airsoft skirmishing.
