ZL brand name comes off that it is zeta labs. If it is, then avoid like the plague.

I'm thinking it might just be a clone of the S&T version (with better looking wood, of course). I say that because the drum still needs to be manually turned to feed, and it is still an EBB. Which have a long history of being bad, and most players deactivate the EBB to keep the gun running well.
Now, if this was non EBB and have an auto winding mag or came with a mid cap stick mag, I think it would be better.

Stuka, zeta labs stopped making products a couple years ago. There was a a scam that took place over on the red alliance board, where they took "pre-order" funds for at that time an Airsoft AS VAL. It ended up as vapor ware and they walked off with a lot of peoples money and got away with it. What's to stop them from coming back to changing name/brand/logo?
While this ppsh looks better stock, as posted it still comes with the same drawbacks. A shame really, but I feel it's just another gun to end up polar stared or now SMP'ed.

Well this is in stock so...I don't think it's zeta labs honestly, I am sure if it was, they'd try to be a bit more clever in their name.

Should I pass on this gun?I'd hate to get a gun and for it to end up being a clunker.

I mean, if you have access to the s&t, it looks like they're the same and both will need some stuff replaced regardless, but the s&t is not a bad gun, just needs new gears I believe and something else from what I have heard

I have an S&T. Honestly, it is the most reliable gun I've had. When I first got it, the cylinder broke, but after that (3 years ago), it's never needed any repairs. Its range isn't the best, but its an SMG, so that's expected. Also, the EBB is easily turned off, by simply lifting the bolt up and sliding it off the notch.

I personally don't have one, but I have been wanting to pick one up to convert into an Mp41r. If the body is solid, and the price is low enough, I see no reason why the internals couldn't be swapped out for better quality ones. I do have to side with Issah though, if it ain't broke don't fix it. If it's based off of the standard aeg power train setup, I see no real reason why it would be unreliable.

Its better than my two sturmgewehr on the reliability side. Plus, the upper receiver/barrel is steel, and even the lower is a much better pot metal than ym STgs. My Mp40 literally shattered due to stress of the pot metal.

Wow. Seriously? Had no idea that Zeta Labs was involved in such underhanded activity. Does not shock me - but I am surprised to hear that. I own the S&T and have not had any issues with same (but it's selector switch is pretty lame quality. Otherwise it's been decent. I also own the (unfortunately now long gone) Paragon PPsH and THAT gun is hands-down a great replica with very nice externals. I baby the gun as mags are impossible to source and other matket PPsH mags are NOT compatable. Stuka, zeta labs stopped making products a couple years ago. There was a a scam that took place over on the red alliance board, where they took "pre-order" funds for at that time an Airsoft AS VAL. Not only that, Stuka, zeta labs was the manufacture brand name. They owned a popular store called Airsoft panda, they had some rare guns or some of the newest chicom clones. They are gone now, I am just reluctant with this new ppsh. Looks great, but as all zeta labs models did. Everything with steel sets labs made, rusted very very badly.

I am still in search of proof, but it's rather odd that it's called ZL.

it's a conspiracy man
=P
I think you are just being cautious. It's not the worst thing but I think it's just a coincidence and again, since these are in stock, you can't get totally burned per se
