I was wondering if anyone on the forum had the M1903A3 from G&G, as I have been looking into the rifle recently, and was wondering: is it worth the money? Is it skirmishable? And, can you reload the weapon with the magazine still inside the rifle, with the bolt back (like the real steel version)? Or do you have to take the magazine out each time to reload?

using this guide, you can alter a speed loader to feed from the top. I don't have one but I tested that with my friend. It's pretty accurate but, for my friend, a little bit of gas is lost upon inserting the magazine unfortunately. It's as skirmashable as a 9 rd bolt action can be. He likes it but finds it hard to use against smg's and bb hoses. Value is determined by individual preference, not necessarily dollar value. For him, he would pry say yes since he, for lack of better words, gets a hard on for all US weapons. I haven't paid the 400+ for it but I'd say it's worth it from handling it some Edit, realized I never put the link for the speed loader thing ww2aa.proboards.com/thread/10512/redfire-kar98k-top-feeding

The mechanicals and magazine is identical with the GnG980 which is extensively reviewed in the armory section under gun reviews. The thread comparing home built Bar 98s, the Tanaka and the GnG is especially informative and hopefully could help you with your question. It would appear that early offerings had considerable chllenges but that later versions are much improved although certainly not ideal.
