I was going to start my piece with the bad part first, but Insterburger covered that and a lot of the good very well. Words taken right out of my mouth. I do have some things to add myself. None of which are bad, but definitely something to consider for the next games. I think we really need a good few things here.
Doing a bit of basic training for the new guys with loaners kits, would be great. Not just the guns, safety and handling, and basic tactics, but how to wear the gear and uniform.
We need a good set of "WW2AA Rules". I know we basically the standard field rules that most fields have, but being at GZA made me, and others, realize that some fields out there cater towards more "hardcore rules". GZA didn't have safety kill rule, only grenades that can kill are the fancy Thunder B and smoke grenades and such, it can't be a stick grenade that just looks the part, or even one of them toy pineapples that make noises. I will create a thread elsewhere about it. The idea is that once we get a set of rules, when we go other fields, we can match rules to make sure we are on the same page, see what rules can be adjusted by both parties, and if a field can't adjust too much to our basic rules, we can just go and talk to another field.
Those are the two suggestions we came up with out to help improve our later games.
Personally, I took great pleasure in getting others equipped and get into the game. Being able to loan out weapons to those who needed them and such. It was a good feeling. My Weapon Cards were good to go, but I need to go to drawing board (MS Excel) to redo my Uniform and Gear Cards. I think I know what I need to do, and when I actually get around to do doing it, I'll post it up. Though, I'll need a helper next time. For when after I issue out stuff to some one, the helper will help the guy adjusting and gear and what not. I did have all my loaner stuff neatly organized and placed out. It was a cool sight, if I say so myself.
Pictures have been uploaded to the Facebook pages, but I'm hoping those guys who posted there will also post here. I would, but I didn't take any photos this time.
This did serve to help us figure out how to better plan for the next events. I had fun for the few games I played and definitely enjoyed hanging out with those who made it, but personally I think the fruits of "admin, logistics, planning trial and error" made it worth while on their own.
