Especially the orange tip...it doesn't go well with the "gold finish"

How bizarre that they would do an 8mm variant? I think maybe someone got confused with the bearing sizes? I wonder how well the ICS Garand is selling? I am very very pleased with mine inspite of the visual infidelities and expensive magazines.

I almost guarantee its the size of the bearings. Most guns use 6mm bearings, some 8 or 9mm bearings are made with ball bearings in them to allow for less restrictive and less friction movement.
Whether or not ICS put those fancy ones into their Garand is unknown, but its definitely now possible.

Nice series of videos on it and the new GnG. .34 gram 8mms at 300 FPS would offer nice brush penetration and less reaction to wind (I would think). Also while the physics would suggests the impact would be identical to a .20 gram 6mm at around 410 FPS I have to believe the receiving end target would be more likely to feel the hit.
Given the size of the BBs and the lower FPS I would think I might want to use colored or black BBs to avoid the "Matrix" duck, Incoming, phenomena. I am surprise he suggests it holds 25 rounds with 8mm and sites the 42 rounds for the 6mm since the reality is the 6mm only loads 32 (6mm).
The box looks nice but like everyone else to me the gold looks horrible. I have to believe they will do a non anniversary version of it and hopefully around the same price as the 6mm ICS Garand. I wouldn't be adverse to 8mm at all. I fire .28 gram 6mm out of my ICS and m thrilled with the range, power and accuracy.

I personally prefer 8mm bb's because of their ability to shoot through brush easier and their increased accuracy. That, and I have a lifetime supply of them. I got pretty excited over this as my 8mm M1 Carbine couldn't be fixed, but when I saw that this cost $655, I decided to pass.

Aside from the additional weight Im having trouble trying to figure out why a larger, round projectile would be more accurate than a smaller ball? a round object is about as bad a shape as you can have for accuracy.

Since heavier bbs are more accurate than the lighter ones, I would guess that since the 8mm bbs have more surface area and is bigger than a 6mm, I guess it would have more weight allowing the bb to be more accurate. But thats just a guess.

On several airsoft retailer sites (evike and AirsoftMegastore for example) they list both a 42 round ICS Garand magazine and a 25 round magazine. The 25 rounder is the 8mm magazine. Incidentally the 42 round actual capacity is 32 maximum so the 25 round probably doesn't feed 25 rounds if I had to guess?
