The link below provides a rare photo of a Me-109 used by Japan, with the mark of the Rising Sun emblazoned on the fuselage. Does anyone know if Japan used German fighters in combat? The link also features a selection of photos unimaginable for the High Command of the Luftwaffe at the beginning of WW2, see their powerful Me-109 and Fw-190 fighters captured and tested with allied markings. I doubt the Japanese had more than a few examples of German aircraft to test. The problem of transporting material between Germany and Japan was almost insurmountable. Early in the war the Germans did use some fast freighters as blockade runners and a certain amount of trade went on using submarines. I believe they also tried using high altitude, long range aircraft to fly the great circle route from Germany to Japan. But basically all they could transport small stuff. No way could they get any number of aircraft to Japan.
Regarding the blockade runners, there was movie starring Yul Brunner in 1965 set on a blockade runner trying to get a cargo of rubber from Japan to Germany, "Morituri". Saw it back in the '70's.
