The purpose of this thread is to get some chatter going about possible dates for the foreseeable future. It has been 2 months since the GZA Op 44' crossover event and I'm hoping that we can still get some momentum from that event to carry over to the next one.
If anyone has any ideas or field location prospects, it would be great to post them here. I can look into GZA again as a possible location, but I want some feedback first. GZA has always been a great field, but we usually need attendance numbers with pre-paid commitments to offset the field and event costs.
I can also procure Lashes field in Fort Johnson NY where Brownie has had some recent events, but the issue hear is that it's 4hrs from home and it's hard for me to do on site prep work for the field. I've tried to reach Brownie over the past couple of months, but I haven't heard back from him.
Either way, I can carry the ball here, but I would like some feedback as to what your feelings/ideas are. So if we get get some feedback on preferences to when and where, that would be great. And of course if anyone else has something in the works, by all means, post it here.
Hope to hear back real soon.
Cheers,
Migs

There hasn't been a Market Garden game that I know of in this "era" of WW2AA; I think doing one would be really cool. I'm not too well versed on fields in the Northeast aside from Lash's, so I don't really know which is "the best", but GZA is at about the limit of how far Scott and I are willing to travel, and I think it would have to be a 2-day event for us to justify driving that far. As for when, school unfortunately starts in just over a month for me, and there are cross country meets and marching band performances before school starts. I did some looking, and I believe the earliest weekend I have free is at the end of October, which may change depending on how well the football and cross country teams do this year. Alternatively, the weekend of August 15-16 I BELIEVE I am free, but if you're starting from scratch in planning an event, that's rather short notice. Summary: I personally would love to go to an event in the NE, especially a Market Garden event, but due to school and all the related school functions, I don't think I'd be able to come out to New York or Connecticut until at least late October. My $.02.

Migs, did you happen to contact that northern NJ field owner I PM'd about a couple months ago?

I will try my best to make any Connecticut games, especially at GZA. I'm sure I could get at least one of my buddies to go with me. I couldn't make the May event at GZA because unfortunately it was the same day as graduation. Though with college starting mid August, I probably wouldn't be able to do anything until October. I need to get settled in and I'm going to be extremely busy all through September. I won't be able to make the last weekend of October, Halloween weekend, I know for a fact. But besides that October works for me and pretty much anything after that.

My $.02. I actually did do a Market Garden event several years ago. It's on the AAR threads as Hells Highway. The event was at GZA and was very successful until we had a incident between some blank fire guys and some regular airsofters. I would love to do another one under that theme. From what I see here, the next possible time to do an event should be sometime in the fall. I'd have no problem with trying to set something up in November. Weather is usually very good then for airsoft, not too cold or hot. I'll probably reach out to Lashes first and go from there. But in the meantime, it'll be great to keep up the chatter here to build confidence. Migs

Hello Friends, Even though it might be a longer drive for some of you, I’d like to encourage you to expand your options to some of the fields that are a bit farther northeast: Harris Field, Dayton, Maine I manage this 55-acre field and currently have open dates on all Saturdays in September plus the first two Saturdays in October. We host an annual D-Day crossover event. Feel Good Farm, Lyndeborough, New Hampshire This is where The Guns of Brecourt Manor was held in 2010, and it appears from the thread linked HERE that they’re desperate to host new events. Ultimate Battleground, Bourne, Massachusetts This is where Ostfront: Gates of Iron was held last February. If you’re interested, I recommend that you contact Frowny (Derfrownmacher) to coordinate something. Regardless of where you decide to have your next event, I really hope I'll have time off from work to attend!

My schedule is pretty filled in Sept, Oct is pretty open. Us Marylanders would prefer something not as north...

My new job has a stranglehold on all my weekends for the forseeable future. Unlikely I will be able to make any games in the short term.

That sucks, but now I really hope I can make it so I can supply German loaner kits.

I'd love to go to an event before long. I know we could host one at Albany Airsoft Experience up here in the Capital region of New York. The field manager is a great guy who would be more than willing to accomodate us. They also have a recently added D-Day inspired field.

This is encouraging news. is there any pictures we can view to check out the field? BTW, the Albany area seems to be a good draw for most of the hard core players here in the North East. If you could muster up an event, I'm sure attendance would be adequate.

On a separate note, Nate and I have been in contact and we are in the planning stages for an event at Lashes paintball in Ft. Johnson, NY. Sometime in the fall. Probably late October or early November. I'll be posting more info soon.
But like I mentioned in my previous post on this thread, a new field in the capital area of NY would be a welcomed addition. Hopefully we can get multiple event going real soon.

Going through Evike's pas big games:
-Zulu 24 Airsoft Tactical Park Rock Tavern, NY
-C&C Airsoft Stanhope, NJ
-Paintball Sports Plattekill, NY
These are where Evike hosts bigger games like Airsoft Nation and Bad Blood every year, and might be worth checking out and they are all southern NY and north NJ.

That new field in Albany has since changed hands this season and is now, Albany Paintball Experience (APE). The owner seems to really favor paintball over Airsoft and has moved paintball to Sunday's when Airsoft used to be, and get good numbers (60-70 a Sunday for Airsoft). Now on Saturdays Airsoft has been getting 15 people at best. Their field is expansive and much better than Lashes but I know the local modern team there is having trouble coordinating with the owner. It's worth a shot though.

I'm not familiar with NY, where would the 'Capital Area' be?

Capital area would be around Albany, specifically in Nassau NY. It's about an hour west of Lashs on I-90

Glad to hear we've got something in the works for the fall. I've been out of the loop for a while and I'm looking forward to getting back into the field with you guys. Nate and Migs you never cease to be the backbone of ww2 airsoft here in the northeast. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Since I've been working on it for a few months, I can proudly say I can contribute 4-5 US loaner kits and 4-5 German loaner kits, and actually look decent. Even though there isn't a set in stone date yet, but by how things are looking, I should have all the kits looking fairly good and even a few more each side!
My British kits are there, but I still really need to do a lot of grunt work to make them look good because its still a lot of post-war stuff that needs sewing alterations and color changes, but I'm happy I can help out at least with the US and Germans.

Tony Manages Albany Paintball Experience and he is really good to work with and very open to ideas. While the open play airsoft is Saturdays, we can very likely get a Sunday event. Tony is interested in having some events at the field and can likely get us a good day. They are also open all year so winter games are even an option.

Hello! I'm new to this forum, just joined today. I have been doing WWII reenacting since 2010. I have done many blank fire public and private tacticals in the New England area. I have also been playing Paintball since 1990, and Airsoft since 2005. I was most recently part of the 26th YD living history group out of Massachusetts. I am very excited to try doing some WWII themed Airsoft. I am unfortunatly unable to make it to the event in CT on the 30th. But hoping that there are many more events soon.
My impression is US Army. I have Wools, HBT, M41 Jacket and M43. I currently have an ICS M1 Garand.

Welcome to the forums. Always good to see newcomers!
Check back regularly to find updates on next events. We usually have an idea-gathering thread like this a month or so prior to the actual event. Its not this thread specifically, typically each new event gets their own thread like this. So, its best to just keep you eyes open.
Sad you can't make this weekend's event. Hope you can make the next one.

On a separate note, I do believe your Yankee Division did attend one of my events. It was my Bastogne Event on March of 2012. Check out the AAR for Bastogne and you'll see some YD there.
