WWII Airsoft of Florida presents The Battle for Lithia, a World War II European Theater of Operations western front airsoft tactical. The event takes place on the battlefield of DV8 Airsoft which has hosted numerous successful blank fire tacticals and airsoft tacticals before. The field has unique terrain features including creeks, man-made hills, open fields, sparse woods, and dense woods. Man-made structures include but are not limited to a built up fire base with a watch tower, small forward operating base, several bunkers strategically placed around the field, bridges, and more.
The scenario will be announced soon. The scenario has been tried and tested many times during past events at DV8 Airsoft and have been successful. Axis forces will be defending assets while the Allies attempt to capture them. Objectives have a points system, some worth more than others, and the side with the most points by the scenarios end win. The Axis will have several objectives to hold including the main Forward Operation Base. Allies will be deployed in two major massings to simulate ground forces advancing and paratroopers being deployed behind enemy lines.
Please mark Maybe or Going on this event page if you want keep posted on updates. Additional information to be added over the next few weeks.
---------- What is an airsoft gun?
An airsoft gun is a replica firearm that fires plastic BBs typically in 6mm and less often in 8mm. The guns we use are authentic replicas of World War II firearms. Some airsoft guns are compressed gas powered, electric powered tied into a motor and mechanical gearbox, or manual cocking. Most airsoft guns use the electric option called Automatic Electric Gun or AEG for short. The muzzle velocity with a .20g 6mm BB can range anywhere from 350 to 550 Feet Per Second with a range between 80 to 200 Feet depending on the model or build of the airsoft gun. The airsoft guns we use and suggest you own are powerful with 1.2-1.85 Joule force and must be treated with respect to avoid moderate to serious injury to yourself or others. If you need help obtaining an airsoft gun or would like to learn more please feel free to message us or Sean Cole.
---------- How do I get killed or kill the enemy?
The first method of is being directly shot by an airsoft gun. When a combatant is directly struck with a BB or more on their person, clothing, or gear they are considered “hit.” A BB striking the gun a combatant is wielding does not count as a hit. If a BB ricochet of a surface such as a wall, ground, another combatant, or tree before striking you it does not count as a hit. A BB passing through a bush or grass before striking you does count as a hit. A BB hitting skin will cause a light to intense sting and on heavy clothing or gear a distinct “thwap” sound.
Airsoft designed BB grenades or approved compressed air and pyrotechnic grenades can kill too. If a compressed air, approved pyrotechnic, or Airsoft BB launching grenades goes off within 10ft of you and you are in a sight line with it you are hit. Same rule applies to approved mortar rounds, RPG projectiles, or landmines.
Getting close? A non-metal blunt or soft bayonet or fighting knife is legal. A single poke or touch with a non-metal blunt or soft simulated edged weapon on any part of the body counts as a hit.
---------- What happens when I get hit?
If you are hit raise your hand above your head and call out an audible “HIT!” to let the opposing team you are dead or down. Keeping you hand up or placing a vibrant red rag on you head signals that you are hit or a non-combatant. Depending on the scenario a hit might result in an immediate kill requiring return to a redeployment point to be entered back into the battle. Some scenarios when you take a hit may force you to drop in place and call for a medic for 2 minutes to stabilize you. If a medic has not reached you by 2 minutes to revive you back into the fight you are considered dead and must go to a redeploy point to reenter the battle. The conditions and hit rules will be explained thoroughly before the scenario. If you suspect a cheater not calling their hits, please notify your in-game administrator.
--------- Safety gear?
While on the battlefield you are required to wear eye protection at all times such as the minimum ANSI rated safety glasses with side shields but suggest the use of full seal ANSI or Airsoft goggles. Eye protection is not required while in the staging area. Face protection is not required for those over 18 but we advise you invest in a scarf, parachute material, or wire mesh mask for your mouth and nose. The advantage of the previously listed face protection options is that they are easy to put on or take off but take up little space in a trouser pocket for quick access. Airsoft BBs have been known to break skin and teeth at close range especially under 50ft. At ranges past 100ft airsoft BBs begin to lose much of their velocity and are far less harmful to the face and mouth. We allow eye and face protection that is not authentic but ask you choose muted colors and transparent lenses on eye protection.
---------- What are the uniform and gear requirements?
We require you to pick an impression that U.S. or German forces would have been in France between June 1944-August 1944 and it looks good on the surface level from 10ft away. We will group like units together to maintain the sense of realism. You must use World War II airsoft guns that are accurate to the nationality you are portraying. We understand if you do not have the right belt set to match your airsoft gun but it is encouraged you do so. Due to the extreme cost of the M1 Garand and K98 airsoft guns it is going to be common place to see a whole squad armed with an abundance of Thompsons and BARs or STG44s and MP40s.
---------- How will the Chain of Command be structured?
The Allied commander for now is Sean Cole but we may pass the duty onto another qualified person since he will be busy with other taskings. Lucas Fitzer will be the commander for the Axis forces because he is most familiar with DV8 Airsoft field and airsoft tactics. If you wish to be in leadership or have an organized unit to attend please contact us so we may organize our Chain of Command well in advanced. The event will have 4 or more qualified airsoft administrators to maintain game fluidity even if they do not hold combat leadership.
---------- How do I sign up? How old do I have to be?
When you arrive on site you pay for admission. There is no pre-registration. We accept cash only. Price of admission is listed below. You will be required to fill out a liability waiver as required by the field owner. We require participants to be 16 years old or older.
---------- Will a vendor be available?
We are working to secure a vendor at the event to support airsoft equipment and some WWII gear. In a limited quantity we ourselves will sell BBs, Eye protection, green gas, and maybe a few other products related to airsoft at the registration desk.
---------- On field services?
Portable bathrooms are available. There is a gas station within 5 minutes of the property. Due to the continuous scenario food will not be provided. Water will be available for sale.
