Historical Reference:
The Battle of Aachen was a major combat action of World War II, fought by American and German forces in and around Aachen, Germany, between 2–21 October 1944. The city had been incorporated into the Siegfried Line, the main defensive network on Germany's western border; the Allies had hoped to capture it quickly and advance into the industrialized Ruhr Basin. Although most of Aachen's civilian population was evacuated before the battle began, much of the city was destroyed and both sides suffered heavy losses. It was one of the largest urban battles fought by U.S. forces in World War II, and the first city on German soil to be captured by the Allies. The battle ended with a German surrender, but their tenacious defense significantly disrupted Allied plans for the advance into Germany.
Please check back to this thread for more event info.
We will be accepting Registrations and PayPal payments immediately.

Thank you, Migs and Brownien, for organizing this and setting the dates well in advance. After seeing this thread earlier today, I requested time off from work and expect an answer from my boss by November 16 so that I can submit to you the info and payment. It will be an honor to attend a WW2AA event with you all! If this is the AO, it looks really fun:

Glad to hear it. And yes, that is the AO. From what I've seen and heard, this will be a terrific field for our events. Plenty of structures, trenches and a nice road network that connects all of the different areas of the field.
Our battle scenarios are still being worked out, but I can promise you the game will have a nice flow to it with plenty of action.
Looking forward to this one.

Since I'll be returning to the military soon (going Air Force this time), I won't know if I'll be able to make this one until sometime in October.

Event Rules What determines a "Hit"? A hit on a player is when any part of the body is hit by a fired BB. This includes any ricochet that may hit you. What do you do when your hit: A dramatic fall to the ground while calling out "Hit" always works best. Once you've finished your "you got me scene" what comes next depends on your wound status. (See medic rules) What about grenade kills? There are two kinds of grenade kills because there are usually two kinds of grenades brought to the events. Non-exploding "dummy" grenades and Exploding grenades. Any "dummy" grenade landing within a unimpeded 10' radius, all within that radius is now DEAD. No wounded, just dead. (See medic rules) For Exploding grenades, same rule as "dummy" grenade except, if you are hit with the exploding contents of the grenade, regardless of where you are, you are DEAD. This is important to repeat. With the exploding grenades, even if you don’t get hit with the ordnance, if it lands within the 10' radius, you’re still dead. The advantage of the exploding grenades is that if you do get hit beyond the radius, you’re dead. If you are in a trench, same rules apply except instead of a radius, the kill zone will be 10 feet in each linear direction from where the grenade land. If you are in a building or bunker and the grenade enters, your dead! **Any building that does not have a roof, grenades are only allowed in through windows and entrance ways. Smoke grenades: are just that. You can not die from a smoke grenade. Bazooka, Panzerfaust and Mortar hits: The same radius and trench rules apply as the grenades rules. In regards to buildings/bunkers, two direct hits to the building destroys and kills everyone inside. Hits to sand bags above trenches do not constitute a hit. Land Mines: If you step on one, Boom! You’re dead. If you are within a 5’ radius of someone who stepped on one, you’re dead too! Safety Kills: All engagements within a 25 foot range, a safety kill shall be declared. First combatant to call out safety kill lives. Any disagreements, both combatants are dead. We all know it is sometimes hard to estimate distances in the heat of battle, please use your best discretion as safety should prevail. Safety kills are mandatory in close quarters (buildings, bunkers and trenches) Knife kills: Although rare, knife kills are possible. Only FAKE knife kills will be allowed. You must make contact with your target for the kill. For those of you who bring real knives and/or bayonets, please keep them holstered. Aid Stations:Each team will be given one medical flag to serve as a mobile or HQ re-spawn point. The mobile aide station location should be determined by CO's and be at least 50 yards from the front lines. The HQ aide stations shall also be 50 yards to the rear of each sides primary HQ location. These aid stations can be captured by the opposing team for points. (Point system T.B.D. later) Aid stations that are captured by the opposing team must take the flag to their base to be awarded the points for the capture. After one hour the flag will be returned under a parlay to its original owner and may again return to it's original status. It is obviously important to secure your mobile aide station, if captured, your teams re-spawn point will be 50 yards to the rear of your HQ for the duration of it's capture. Medic Rules:When a player is hit, they are to fall down (acting is encouraged!) and call for a medic and or buddy aide. Any teammate can medic their fallen comrade by holding onto them for five minutes. Contact must be kept for the entire five minutes and once time has elapsed the player is back in the fight. If no medic or buddy comes to your aide, after 5 minutes, you are considered "bled out" and you can leave for either the mobile aide or Battalion Aide Station (B.A.S.) where you must remain there for an additional 5 minutes. After a player has been hit a 2nd time, the player must lay dead in place for 5 minutes before falling back to an aid station or to their main base. Once at the aid station the player must wait five more minutes before returning to combat. When leaving the field as a "dead man walking" no talking to teammates about enemy positions will be allowed. Dead men will grip their weapon by the business end and sling their weapon over their shoulder while holding up their free hand. No dead man shall be fire upon! Additional Medic Rules: Variations of the above rules may apply to each game scenario. We may have a one kill and your out scenario or just one re-spawn scenario. this will all be included in the briefing. Ammo Restrictions:At the beginning of the Operation, both teams must bring all of their ammo and supplies out with them for the day. They are to either carry or leave their supplies at their primary positions for the duration of the battle. Ammo cans may contain bags of BB's, loose BB's and speed loaders. However, soldiers can only go into battle with their loaded magazines on their person. They can not have speed loaders or BB bags with them. They must either keep them in their ammo cans and carry them or leave them at the location of their choice. Team leaders must work with their Squad leaders in order to coordinate rearming and refitting during their assaults/defenses. Only players with 8mm weapons that require "hand feeding" of their ammo may carry loose ammo with them. Support weapons (1919s, mg34s,42s) may be reloaded with the use of ammo cans or with bandoleers of deactivated ammunition/blanks. Each belt or ammo can equals one bag of bbs which can be carried on the attack and these items must be supplied by the soldier. Camping: Camping will be allowed on the Friday ans Saturday nights. Camping will only in the designated camping area next to the parking lot. This camp site will be for both German and Allied troops. It would be wise to separate the sides, but all camping must be in the designated area. Players are encouraged to camp out in WWII period tents. It is also encouraged to have your campsites look as authentic as possible. All modern equipment such as coolers and heaters should stowed away out of sight. Water and Rations: Only period canteens will be allowed on the battlefield. Each side may "hide" additional water supplies at their HQ's. Gatorade buckets, coolers or bottled water must be kept out of sight (either in a structure or tent). Food rations are encourage and can be brought onto the field of play. If they are brought onto the field, they must be kept in a period backpack such as a bread bag or musette bag. Players should make sure they have enough rations and especially water for their time at the event. Nate and I have decided to have a lunch break halfway through the event. We will be serving a soup or stew meal on a chow line. This will be served at the campsite out of the field of play. You can purchase period rations for either side at reprorations.com/index.htm I would purchase at least 2 meals worth. Candy bars will be accepted. Please take your meal trash with you if you are in the field. This was mandatory for all soldiers as they knew if they left their trash behind, they would be giving away their positions. We will follow the same practice. Bring a plastic bag with you and put trash in your musette bag. Open fires: We are still in the process of finding out if open fires will be allowed. If so, they must be in designated areas that are properly dug out and shielded by rocks. Video or still cameras: Anyone that wishes to spend some time taking either video or stills from the event during the battles may do so and not be fired upon, nor can they do so themselves. If one decides to do so, they must discard their weapon, and attach a RED rag to their helmet for ID purposes. For those of you new to the hobby, we encourage all photography.

All of these event rules will be discussed at the safety briefing. I encourage all players to read these rules prior to attending and understand each one of them.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, I will only take questions via PM as I prefer not to have an open discussion on this thread regarding the rules.
Over the next few weeks or so, Nate and I will be working on battle scenarios in an effort to have this event have a good fighting flow to it. The field is very diversified with many structures and fortifications. We will be taking advantage of this and try and bring these props into historical reference and play.

Authenticity guidelines The following are the authenticity guidelines for U.S. Impressions Headgear- M1 helmet with fixed d-bale. Helmets were covered with nets, a white winter cover or were just plain. Uniform- M-1941, M-1943 or M42 or M43 Jump uniforms. A WHITE tee shirt was usually worn underneath, along with the issued service shirt. Footwear- BROWN repro Corcoran jump boots or M43 buckle boots. Black ones will be acceptable for this event if brown cannot be had. NO modern Army tan or suede boots please. No French post War buckle boots. They are even wrong for regular infantry. I do understand that footwear can be expensive and hard to acquire. As long as your boots look close, your fine. A good way to camo your boots is to wear leggings over them. Webgear- Original or repro khaki web belt or cartridge belt depending on your weapon. Original or repo M36 KHAKI suspenders WITH felt strap pads. These can be found at What price glory, At the Front or on Ebay. M1910 Canteen and Canteen pouch. Original or Repo Musette Bag. OD or Khaki. Haversack also acceptable. These packs can contain anything from extra ammo, supplies, extra socks, K-rations, raincoat, and other personal items. Holster, or shoulder holster for M1911. Holster must be BROWN leather. Black wasn't used till the 1950's or later. We prefer that most impressions be U.S. Infantry instead of airborne. But if that's all you have, that's fine. U.S. Accepted weapons
M1 Garand M1-Carbine M1A1 Thompson BAR M3 Grease Gun Spring Field M1903 M1919 Bren Gun Sten Gun PPSH-41 M1911 pistol **There will be no modern weapons allowed at this event**
The following are the authenticity guidelines for German troops:
All Wehrmacht impressions (Heer, Luftwaffe, Waffen SS and Volksgrenadier) are acceptable If you do not have an impression as this scenario will take place on "German soil", period looking civilian clothing portraying the Deutsche Volkssturm is acceptable and armband is required. If you do not, let us know and we will try to provide one for you.
German Weapons:
K98 STG44
MP-38 MP40
MG-34 MG-42
PPSH-41 ZB-30
Luger Mauser C-96

I'm in- just gotta put in for leave. I will be camping, and I have an era-appropriate tent (and a guide-on with an authentic WWII medic flag).
I also have cast iron cookware (skillet and dutch oven w/ tripod) and a percolator if you think those would be useful?

Yes I would bring the cast iron. As for yours and Drac's impression. Hard to say right now as we are just starting to get Registrations in. I'll let you know as we get a little closer to the event. This way we can try to achieve some balance of forces. Thanks, Migs

On note of loaner kits!
I'm really pushing to get good loaner kits set up. Its a process, indeed, and I've pushed working on my US and British loaner kits to the back burner to get my German kits finished. Focusing on German kits as I'm afraid a lot of what I use for loaner gear will dry up (as the really cheap E German leather belts already did), so I want to take care of them ASAP. As of this very moment I nearly have 7 Germans and 6 Americans! I really should have 10, fully equipped, good looking, German kits ready to go! My US guys will still be rather rag-tagged by then, sorry.
Still unsure if I'm going to make it or not, but the kits can. But thats what trying to get into the Air Force gets me.
But please, since we, or just her, can't be bringing EVERYTHING in our sedan across 3-4 states, lets get a system of who needs what and how many kits need to be brought up.

Glad to see more chatter on this thread.
Believe it or not, this event is only six weeks away. Now is the time for everyone to start sending in their registrations.
Nate and I will be discussing battle scenarios and they'll be posted shortly. But in the meantime, get those registrations in. Even if you intend to pay at the field, as long as your coming, please register.
And for those who need loaner gear, please contact me through PM or email and I'll coordinate your needs.

Clearly if you live anywhere in the NE and have an interest in WW2 airsoft you should attend this event. Even if you do not have the required gear or weapons coordinate with those going and I can guarantee they can collectively get you set up. heck recruits some friends. There is always more gear than players just be sure to arrange things before hand and link up early so you can be set to go when the tactical phases commence.

And speaking of loaner gear. I will announce some protocols regarding the loaner gear.
There will be a check list type form that players will fill out. Presenting some form of ID should also be in place.
This way when the loaner gear is returned, the lender can check off items returned.
I'll fine tune this.

Event Schedule Friday: All are welcomed to stop by the field and "dig in" for the event or just help out with field set up and construction. Camping allowed in a designated area. Saturday: Arrivals may start anytime after 0700 hours, but everyone should plan on being at the field no later than 0800 hours. Registrations and payments will be accepted during this time. This time will also be used for everyone to complete their load out. 0900 hours: Safety and Event Rules briefings. You will be briefed on our rules of engagement, what is a hit and how we will use our medic/respawn scenarios for this event. Safety and sportsmanship requirements/expectations. Nothing to complicated, just need everyone on the same page. 09:45 hours: Event producer will meet with CO's from each side. 1000 hours: Germans and Allied forces will move into their AO and prepare for Battle.. GAME ON: 1600 hours: At Dusk, game over
I just felt it necessary to remind everyone of a couple of points/preparations that everyone should be made aware of.
1) We will have a lunch break at some point during the event. There is no specific time for this, but will probably happen at some point mid day. Event producers will serve a stew or something close to that, so bring your mess tins. 2) It is also recommended that you bring with you adequate rations and water for this event. You can find rations for both German and Allies at: reprorations.com/index.htm 3) It is also recommended that everyone carry w/ them either a FRS radio or a whistle. In case of injury, we want you to be able to notify us. If you carry an FRS radio and are not a CO or event coordinator, you can keep it off unless in case of an emergency. Hope everyone understands the importance of this. More on this at the safety briefing. One more thing. We are always looking for someone to volunteer to video this event. Please PM me if interested.
Sunday's Scheduled will be announced at the field on Saturday.

IMPORTANT NOTICE With the event only one month away, NOW IS THE TIME to send in your registrations. Anyone that sends in their pre-payment via PayPal, your payments are 100% guaranteed. If you request a refund prior to Friday, December 4, 2015 or if the event is postponed or cancelled, your payment will be refunded (minus any paypal transfer fees) Nate and I can not stress the importance of reaching a reasonable number to put this event on. We have promised the field owners just that. Please keep in mind that the field has games every weekend and they have cancelled theirs in lieu of ours. I can not host an event with low numbers as this definitely be a problem for hosting future events at this location. This is a great field in a great location. Hopefully membership will not procrastinate and start sending in their registrations. NOW IS THE TIME. DON'T WAIT. Migs
