Title says it all. What pieces of equipment you've used for other purposes for certain tasks or other things. For me....
1.WW2 gas can- At the dorm in community showers its been a big help.I can fit my shampoo,brush/comb,underwear,hair gel, shaving cream, and razor. The strap I use to hang on the door hook.
2.German Mess kit- I don't have a pan or bowl in the dorm so if I want to make something small like bacon, coco, ect. I could make a warm meal when I'm in the woods with friends.
3.Zeltbahn- When the rain gets bad
Curious to see what everyone else has used

The US folding etool (copied from the German design) is nice to have in the car. The ever convenient P38 can opener is always on hand. In cold weather I really like the "radar O'Reilly" keeper hat.

I've been tempted to attach a US WWII first aid pouch to my everyday belt, because it surprisingly fits my cell phone perfectly.

My mom is considering using a musette bag as a book/laptop bag as it is the perfect size for a Macbook and all her books (she is a college professor.)

i also forgot to mention this one.Sometime i forget my belt at home but luckily in my room I had two German equipment straps around.I just connected them both and they do the job well for a temporary belt.

I use an M41 jacket as an everyday jacket. It's very warm.

I used to use my army issue M65 field jacket for camping and such for many years (until age and increasing girth made it too tight and I gave it away). The M65 was a direct descendent of the M43 field jacket, which influenced military clothing for decades. A lot of countries, like Norway, copied it directly or in modified form, or copied later variations. It was Castro's standard "look," as well as the fashion conscious Iranian radical. Campus protestors in the late '60's had to wear one. You can still find commercially made "M65 Style" jackets. The M43 was a brilliant piece of design.
