So, Evike had the Matrix BAR on sale for $225, so I said what the heck, I've always wanted one. Just a few observations and questions.
Cripes! This thing is big! It may become a wallhanger or a loaner, because I'm not sure I want to schlep it around all day. I'd like to have a few words with John Browning about it as well. I don't have small hands, but the grip is still way too thick to be comfortable. The magazine release is clever, but kind of awkward. The guy who designed the bipod must have had a brother-in-law who sold wingnuts. Really terrible design.
Evike also managed to leave the manual out when they shipped it, so I'm not sure how to put the battery in short of unbolting the buttplate. Is there something here I'm missing? The little trapdoor for the cleaning kit doesn't seem to be functional as far as inserting a battery.
Did the BAR have it's own sling or did it use an ordinary rifle sling?

The BAR used the same rifle sling as the 1903 and Garand.

$75 ? I've got a couple original Springfield slings. I think I'll just use one of them. Thanks.

There is no "flap" at the buttplate so full on removal is required for battery installation. The BAR was a big rifle. Great deal on your Matrix BAR! You can see why most GIs ditched the bipod!
