My faithful CYMA Thompson finally broke in a fashion I can't fix myself, and the internet seems to be devoid of spare parts for these guns. Looking to buy the magazine release from a junked Thompson so I can replace my broken one and keep my old gun going some more. If you've got one, help a guy out and let me know. I'll cover shipping and we can discuss how much the part itself is worth to you.
I check this forum pretty regularly, but for a quick response, email me at: ibroberts@gmail.com
Thanks!

The mag release should be uniform for virtually every AEG Thompson as all of them are Marui clones. That might help in your search?

Yeah I've looked everywhere using basically every search term (CYMA, TM, King Arms, etc). No luck!

I am in the same boat as you. Have a spare 1928 CYMA Thompson that needs the same part and I can't find one anywhere. Good luck

I actually checked airsoftgunrepair.com again and they had it in stock! I ordered one last night. But when I looked again this morning, it's sold out again... so who knows if I'll actually receive one. I suspect there's a problem with their website...
My best bet at this point is to find a junked one and pull its mag release. One can hope!

I looked at that exact auction, but the mag release requires a spring to work. I'm an idiot and threw away both the broken mag release and its spring. I'm also afraid a real one would be too strong for an airsoft action and may not function in the ABS plastic lower receiver. My only hope at this point is to find an airsoft replacement I think.

I have a real Thompson lower that's been built into a dummy gun, and the mag catch is an exact copy as far as I can tell. The spring tension isn't much more either, I haven't disassembled either of my Thompsons in that manner, as I've had no reason to before, but I would assume that a real catch could either drop in or be made to drop in easily. Plus side is, they're all steel, so no way they're gonna break on you again. If the real catch's spring does seem too strong, you can always trim a coil and work from there.

So the Airsoft Gun Repair package arrived last week but I was out of the country on vacation. Opened it today and they just sent me a full stripped lower with just the mag release. It dropped in fairly easily and now my gun should work again! I also added a Lyman L-shaped rear sight to replace the broken M1A1 rear sight ears (the pot metal broke during a move), so now it's a proper M1 Thompson. Pics here: imgur.com/a/jYT0S

Pics here: imgur.com/a/jYT0SI have an M1 stock (without the reinforcement screw) that I'm gonna try to have copied since they are extremely hard to find. If I get some made I'd be happy to send you one (battery cavity milled out) and then you'd have a true proper M1

Correction *** you'd need the M1928A1 style fire control switches along with the plain stock to have a proper M1 Thompson. Though M1 Thompsons did leave the factory with the M1A1 switches, stock, and protected sight towards the end of its production.

Eh, sadly I don't think I'll reach that level of detail. I don't think they even make proper M1928 fire selectors for airsoft guns anyway. I was mainly just happy to get the gun working again!

Hello Men, The company that makes the Mosquito Mold M1928A1 conversion kit " Craft Apple Works, CAW" does not sell to America or Europe. I was able to get Den Trinity @ "http://www.dentrinityshop.com/index_ne.jsp" to order a small batch which sold out fast. I will see what I can do to get them to restock the Kit I would have informed you all sooner but they went fast.
Carry on Men!
