Since our D-Day series in Maine never comes close to the authenticity standards of WW2AA events, I’ve been apprehensive to advertise it here. However, my hope is that it will be a “bridge event” to lead some of the participants into more authentic WWII airsoft reenacting. If any of you are available, please feel encouraged to attend in full kit as representatives of WW2AA. Our roll call is currently at 70 and growing each day with an expected turnout of well over 100. Details are linked here: www.neasg.org/upcoming-events/23493-hf-day-2017-saturday-july-29-a.html#post213756

Just to be clear, this event is on July 29-30 (it hasn't happened yet.) The title of your thread says June which might be misleading to some.

I personally think these "bridge " events are an excellent opportunity to grow our hobby. Omega, if there is any way I can perhaps help from a far let me know. I have props and lots of hokey (but way better than nothing) costume items for US and German. Even a dozen folks so outfitted can add a lot to the themed event.
If you cover the shipping costs both ways I'll lend them to you. As long as they are dry, you can send them back dirty.

I’d fix it, but it appears that my account privileges aren’t broad enough. I personally think these "bridge " events are an excellent opportunity to grow our hobby. Thank you for generously offering this just as you have in the past. We’re still a low-budget field and have already spent too much this year to afford even just the shipping cost described in your “Loaner gear available” thread. However, the good news is that several of our participants have started buying their own kit. Just recently, a couple friends told me that they picked up some discounted quality-control-rejected tunics that they were very happy with because the flaws were unnoticeable. This year, local folks are really getting into it and taking initiative a lot more than I expected. We even have an amateur chef who volunteered to make some special treats on-site during the Saturday lunch party. There isn’t much historical learning at our events, but we always have a crazy fun time!
