The Gothic Line II will be a nonstop, full immersion style WWII Airsoft event beginning Friday January 11th and ending on the 13th. Feel free to message me with any questions that you have about the event. If you would like to attend the event, but do not have a WWII impression, please let me know. There are many groups around that attend that often have loaner kits. Feel free to share the event to other pages as well. I look forward to seeing you there!
@cpl. Mills 2nd Rangers, for the Allies there are 2 Willy's jeeps that say they're coming, Axis have a German Ford Troop truck and a bike w/ sidecar, also if everything works out I should be getting a Sd. Kfz. 250/1 halftrack in time for the event as well.
What an event! That was the harshest weather I have ever experienced at any airsoft or blank fire event. I want to thank everyone who came out, and another thank you to all of those that stayed and helped pull out the 5 stuck cars. That was quite the ordeal.
The entire event was below freezing with about 6 inches of snow on 4 inches of mud. Currently all the photos and AAR's are on the facebook group.
I will begin uploading photos to imgur albums however, and posting the albums here for those who do not have a facebook. Thank you to 2nd bat for loaning a uniform set as well! Hope we can keep doing that in the future, hope it made it back already!
Quick AAR about the event. Besides the weather, it was a massive success. We were out there from Friday to Sunday and fought the whole time dispite the snow and freezing. Authenticity requirements were VERY high and everyone seemed to meet them! I was very strict on the uniforms and impressions allowed in, and will continue to be that way to create the immersive atmosphere we are striving for. But I was very pleased with the authenticity at this event.
It was very tough, we had a lot of people not show up due to the weather, and a lot of people leave early due to the weather. I know this type of event is not for everyone, and this definitely showed a lot of people that they either were or were not as tough as they thought they were or could handle the cold as much as they thought. The sleeping arrangements were for the most part period as well.
The goal was to make a challenging but rewarding 3 day, nonstop WWII immersion event using airsoft weapons. That goal was met. We had a big AAR at the end about things to fix in the future and where to go, and that was very productive. The gameplay itself ran smoothly with the operations orders and the rulesets. Very long death penalties as well as designated medics using a casualty card system similar to the NTC's medic card system. We had an armored car in play as well on the axis side.
Anyways, i'll start getting albums uploaded. Thank you to all of those that came, and hope to see more of you guys make it out to the next one!
Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?

Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
