The US Army announced that it will be replacing the blue "Army Service Uniform" with a version of the WWII "Pinks and Green" uniform as the new business dress uniform. The ASU will return to being "dress blues."
"After more than a year of discussion, the U.S. Army announced Sunday that it has adopted a version of the World War II pinks and greens uniform as the service's new everyday dress uniform." "By 2028, the "Army Greens" will become the "everyday business-wear uniform for all soldiers," according to a Veterans Day Army news release" "This is the uniform worn by America's 'Greatest Generation' in World War II," the release states." "Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel Dailey unveiled the first prototypes of the two-tone uniform in October 2017 at the Association of the United States Army's annual meeting." "In November of that same year, Dailey said the final version of the uniform would be a historically accurate representation of the uniform Gen. George C. Marshall wore as the chief of staff of the Army during WWII. It will feature a belted jacket, khaki shirt and brown leather shoes for men." www.military.com/daily-news/2018/11/11/its-official-army-adopts-version-pinks-and-greens-uniform-veterans-day.html
I couldnt agree more. I was always envious of the Texas A&M Rotc Corp of cadets as they somehow managed to be uniformed in WW2 tunics and "pink" gabardene trousers and even authorized Patton style 3 buckle knee high brown boots.
Following WW2 in the US Armies obsession with all things German they tried roughly emulating a more "German" look and stylishly took a big jump back from the pink and tans. Growing up I remember when my dad transitioned to the Green Class A's
Stalin should have known communism wouldn't work. There were red flags everywhere!"
Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?

Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
