After Action Report & Photos - The Gothic Line III Historical MILSIM, November 8 - 10, 2019.
I will get a more detailed version of the After Action Report up later this week. However, the black and white photos have just been developed so I figured I would share the album so that those without a Facebook may see the event and what happened. Hopefully we can see more of the WW2AA members in the future!

The goal of this event was to create an immersive, WWII experience resembling that of the Gothic Line in November 1944. We utilized specific units for the event and very high authenticity standards to create this immersive atmosphere. This was the plan and the goal.
Overall we had roughly 50 attendees. With approximately 30 or so Allies, and about 20 or so Axis. We had 1 Axis armored car (BA64 5. Orpo Panzer Kompanie) as one as 1 US Willys Jeep. The weather was great (Only getting about 18 degrees at night) but up to high 40's during the day. Cold at night but warm in the day. We did stay in the field the entire time (Thursday/Friday - Sunday) with everyone sleeping in foxholes or the trenches. We had nonstop game play, fighting throughout the night utilizing parachute flares. Battles at midnight, 3am, etc. The event never stopped from the moment it began. Men were always on watch during the night against one another, or patrolling. People had to dig in themselves. The food system was period correct, with the US having a period field kitchen and cooking authentic meals using correct hardware. The axis side had iron rations and the Italian can system in play as well, with lots of hard tack. So both sides did have period correct food and logistics system behind it. Rifle distribution was very close, and next year we are requiring correct weapon distribution. We were very close to achieving that this time around.
We had a rank structure in play and followed the correct TO&E for each nation present. With everyone adhering to the ranks and structure as well. The US guys had handy talkie radios from What Price Glory, the Italians used runners. So everyone followed their historical communication channels. Remember, the field is about 400 acres. About a mile long by a mile wide. It is some distance to cover, with us using nearly the entire property fighting corner to corner. So the main bases were almost 1.5 miles apart.
Anyways, onto the photos! I will put them in a big imgur album which might be the easiest than posting ~125 photos on this thread.
I hope to see more of you next year!
