I was fortunate enough to have Raimund remember me when he was stuffing Viva MG-34's into the Christmas socks. When it came I was not happy with several things about the gun but it is growing on me. Biggest feature? It shoots reliably. I've already fixed all the other niggling deficiencies and can't wait to debut it at our next MOA event. Franz will want to use it so Please - no one PM him about this. Fixed the bipod so it is steady - painted the assault magazine - situated and fixed the metal tray that the assault magazine sits in so that it is affixed flat to the receiver and not pressing against the gearbox, changed to li-poly power, repainted all plastic with Krylon Fusion paint so hopefully it will stick, refinished the butt stock and replaced the wood screws with machine screws for the battery removal plate. Increased the front sling hole to accommodate a sling. It is now wonderfully solid and I think a fair addition for the 3rd PzGr.

Oink Oink! I have another newbie. Dennis out at Kooblekar finished his adaptation of a limber truck and it has finally arrived. I have some things to improve and change on this but I hope to have it ready for the Rockford blank-fire event. Then it will be a regular at MOA events from time-to-time. It's nice to have something several folks can hop onto and for carrying stuff. This is a 38' Ford 1-ton fixed up as a Belgian capture artillery prime mover. The 41' is still coming along but won't be ready till Fall 09.

Original Heer Belt Buckle. Whoever the original owner was, he certainly spent a lot of time crawling around on his belly.

I was at the gun and knife show this weekend, and picked up some cool stuff. first... A 1943 dated 88B Mountain rucksack in excellent condition. no holes, stains, good straps. and it has the rifle strap, and belly band. picked it up for $20 I also got a 60% full M2 Jungle Pouch, it had Halazone, (label was half peeled off, so I replaced it), salt tablets, Iodine tube with wooden cylinder, and wartime band-aids. I threw in homemade sulfadiazine tablets, carlisle, and soon to be insect repellent and Frazer's Solution for Athlete's Foot. got it for $10

Very hard to find WWII canteen. Guess where it is from? It has quite the history if can spot any details on it. I will answer and tell what is interesting about it... if there is any interest of it.

Looks like it could be either a Chinese canteen , or a Japanese canteen. The Japanese used captured Chinese canteens often and yours could be an example of one of those. Or it could be a Chinese communist canteen. Either way , the stamp tells me it was captured by an American serviceman , either from a Japanese trooper in WWII or from a Chinese soldier in Korea.

Dang... you know your stuff. It was a Chinese made canteen. I assume it was captured by the Japanese as it was left behind in a factory. I have seen 3 other canteens of the same manufacturer (with 2 of them with American service man captured from Japanese). ..so it is presumed to be captured by an American. Another likely story is probably during the Korean War, unless the intelligence stamp has changed after WWII. The only way to prove it is the capture papers, but the seller did not have it. Here is is compared to the repro canteen that the Chinese WWII group, that I am in, use:

This just came in the mail. Mosin Nagant 91/30 stock and sling, its a very nice stock soon to be converted with VSR/Bar10 internals. Seems like it will be an adventure as said by other members but im up for a challenge.
