I just swung by a series of thrift stores. Something I often do on Saturday mornings. I went by three Value Village shops and did the quick five mniute walk through. I generally check the uniform section, the bag section, boots and long sleave work shirts. Occassionally (perhaps one in 10 visits I see something worthwhile. Mustard wool shirts, perhaps an M43, some Nam jungle fatigues found a pair of boondockers once. This morning I hit the mother load: A large size (7 1/2) Tanker helmet, A pair of tanker HBT coveralls, (faded but perfect), a tanker jacket (around a 42) with a 2nd Armored patch, light moth nips in the liner and wear marked fraying on the cuffs, and most unusual, a pair of cold weather tankers, bib field pants in faded but mint condition. All the zippers work and the pants, mustard wool liner appears new. A great match of color with the tanker jacket. (Slightly lighter) I'm not sure about the size but since they were designed to be worn over the wool pants and coveralls, in effect quite large. A truly great collection all in one place and at one time. Obviously grandpa died and the kids set out all this stuff on their front portch not knowing what it was all worth. I got it all along with a wool garrison cap, and mustard wool shirt for $58.00! The most expensive item was the Spalding OD leather helmet at $19.95. I had never seen a pair of the tanker bib field pants before.
It was a good morning!

wow. awesome find adler. The bib pants are REAL nice when you're a GI. Warm, dry, and no chance of them falling down. Can also store some stuff in the bib.
Odd that that stuff's in such nice condition in 1 big lot. Usually tanker gear is caked in gunk.
again, great find.

I was amazed at the condition the pants had a few very tiny paint splatters and that was it. I doubt I'll be able to fit in them but they are actually quite large. The jacket fits but barely. I will probably ebay them as a grouping.

Thank you. The Canteen and Canteen Carrier (or Cover, whichever is proper terminology) is Original. The M-1 Helmet is original (it has bumps, scrapes and bruises) and the Camo Helmet Cover, Cap, whatever is an ATF repro.

Alright here are all of my most recent purchases clumped together. In the picture is an original unissued WW1 version BAR Belt that has been modifyed by the USMC Depots to the WW2 version. These were the version of the BAR belt that was issued at the USMC at beggining of the war. They are extreamly rare as they were all issued used and worn out, only then being replaced by the M1937 BAR ammo belt. In the pics you can see all the added material and modfications needed to make the WW1 serviceable in WW2. The next item is an original WW1 Army first aid pouch. This is an unissued item. The next item is a reproduction of the WW1 M1910 bayonet scabbard that were issued to the USMC during WW2. I also have a reproduction trench knife in the picture as well as a WW2 issued BAR magazine I will be using in my BAR airsoft gun. TommyGunner

Leather gloves with wool inserts, these were by a M51 field jacket that was really awesome, but i didnt have 60 dollars for it. Then some sort of money belt? Have no clue, looks like it has a Boy scout snap closure on it? Looks to be a war time item but was modified post war by boy scouts. Original 11th Abn Patch w/o tab. -Cary

Well I just put the finishing touches on this beauty. When I received it, it was a rotted piece of wood on a rust bucket leaf spring suspension. I brought it back to it's former glory. All I need are the tires. SHould have them in a few days and I'm good to go! I present to you, my WWII era German cargo/utility trailer... And a view inside of the planked floor...

I don't want to be rude so I'll refrain from posting the price, I got it from WGCshop.com. VFC BAR+4 extra magazines+shipping from hong kong. You can do the math.
---EDIT: just realized I forgot to put the front sight hood on after removing the orange tip. I'll replace it for a better quality picture later on.---
