Yes very intentional! I tried to make it match the burnt appearance of my real k98

Not really recent, but I thought I'd share some purchases of mine. No pictures on this computer, I might put some up later. USMC Garrison Cap, size 7 1/4, dated 1942 from the Philadelphia Depot & Necktie ($15) USMC/USN leggings, size 3, dated 1943, Gregory and Read Co, "SHANSON ??" written inside both leggings. ($12.50 for the pair)

Got my helmet from J.Murray on Saturday. I wasn't expecting to get a Schlueter shell! The pics don't show the "S" near the heat stamp, I couldn't get it to show well, but it's there. I may order another shell and ask for a McCord so I have one of each manufacturer. s1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/mroe11/m1%20helmet/

Picked this sucker up at a recent reenactment. M1903A3 Drill Rifle that the previous owner modified to resemble a M1903A4. Genuine Redfield mount, correct bolt handle, etc. The barrel is clearly from a M1903A3 (notches indicate the front sight was removed), and the scope is a Weaver 329 instead of a weaver 330C, but it still looks the part! The parts are all Remington, but from different weapons, and the barrel is dated August of 1944. Plus, at $125, it was too good to pass up.
