dont bring up dead threads -mccallion I think theres enough replys here to justify that the original post was of some value. As far as respawn rules, i think the runner rule is pretty cool. Like the idea of someone going off to go get help. Medic rules I think are pretty good as well, but i havent played any games with them either.

The runner rule is pretty unique. I have never seen that done before. I’m going to try it this Saturday at our game.

I used to be a runner for the 9 SS, it really is an effective role in the game, its kinda like the mail man of the battlefield...delivering messages and objects to someone. Mccallion it would only be bringing back a dead thread...if the thread were dead...I have to say this was a succesful resurection from a deep sleep.

I'm just saying dont do this for every thread just start a new thread this one ended 5 mounts ago mccallion so you'd rather have multiple threads about the same thing, then one thread that continues. What exactly is the inconvience of posting on an old thread? Back on topic, being a runner would be kinda fun, but i cant believe it was said earlier that no one wants to play medic. I think that'd be a pretty cool experience to try and be a medic in combat. Plus it would force your guys to use a little more team work in the sense that you'd need protection while you worked or went from soldier to soldier

Majorray ~ I think we were talking about two seperate things. There are those that don't care about the scenario or theme or anything else and just want to pull a trigger. I don't think anyone here falls into that catogory.

Not a dead thread, when it is being discussed by seven people and when one considers that this topic is still relevant. While we may not use these rules for our Chicagoland games, I would hope that what I wrote could be of use to someone (or just serve as a source of inspiration). Thanks!

First off, please, no backseat moderating. They do their jobs well enough. Second, to clarify somethings, again, a ressurection is not a bad thing UNLESS the new post is something like "that`s oober kull" or "me want a thompson like da trophie!!!!!111!"
This was a legitimate, and revitalizing ressurection. A necro-post is just that, necrofelia to a post, or, screwing around with a dead object. Your not breathing life back in, your just sticking your two pesos into a thread no one cares about, or what you think about it.

What happens when the runner is shot down? Does someone else just get selected to run for the reinforcements?

Yeah. If he is shot, then he must respawn with everyone else, however, another runner could be sent out once the CO realizes that the runner is down as well.
