I have great plans for both.. we just can have both due to money The town i have planned would be modeled somewhat after the carentan portion from COD2, but it could be added to and changed. It could also be used for events pertaining to Italy, all the way till the end of the war, since European Towns dont change much. THe problem pertaining to an Alantic wall would be, obtaining coastal space to put it up. -Cary

I wonder who else voted Town. If you vote, please list your reasoning. Also any Ideas. Also if we built a town, i would like to try to make hedgerows, that would be huge in like 3-5 yrs maybe out of fas growing bushes. -Cary

I said town. With the Atlantic Wall, there is a team with an advantage (Germans). Last event we had pretty even teams and we found it was hard as hell trying to attack them! When they have the high ground and even teams, it would be no contest. But if it was X amount of allies overpowering the axis by a huge amount that could be fair I think.
Plus house-house fighting is just so damn cool!

I have made a very stone aged drawing of my town proposal. Like i said looks like the CoD2 map lol But it can be used for ANY town. I plan on making drawings of each Building too. It wouldnt be too hard to make, with help, and donations of either wood, or anything you could spare. This could work. And it wouldn't take very long if we make very basic structures, and get a bit of help out there. -Cary

I think either would be great, but a town battle would be amazing.
Tommygunner, what's wrong with a German advantage?

Yes But the fact of doing a D-day landing event would be pretty kickass hell Im gonna put my vote for the town...even though I wanted the wall the town seems better of an Idea...but TG I dont like fighting in forrests...not all of ww2 was fought in the forrest...Id like to get some building action!!...What be interesting to see in a town would be some roads and good buildings...

Yes, i thought about what we could do for a road, but it seams an accurate road would be just too dang hard, and expensive. Since they didnt have concrete or pavement ( both too expensive anyways) and Cobble stone.. is really hard to set. So our only choice would have to be a dirt road -Cary

well, if we get a location, I would come out almost every weekend and try to do some work on making some buildings (if it's close enough of course). Drywall is pretty cheap. we could try to make some houses that would look pretty bland and plain, but if we spread them out a bit, it could work. Any body have some old furniture they'd be willing to give up

Well, im thinking that drywall would nto be our best option, incase our buildings arent water proof, so it will all be pretty basic structures, with basic frames, and plywood walls and the likes. -Cary

Well I believe I have a good bit of wood and drywall in my garage. And what about a gravel road or if that's the same thing as cobble stone idk.

how bout we talk to Jeff!
a road would be so cool, now all we need are tanks then a full town assault could happen
(of course the axis would beat back the allies like pesky flys!)

Thats what i was planning, proposing this for a use of Jeffs field. Instead of random bunkers, that dont represent 75%+ fighting in ww2. WW2 was fought mainly through fields and towns. Not forests Pockmarked with random Bunkers. Those type of battles give a more paintball feel to the battle, along with people just firing thousands of round ( i am one) We NEED a town, also trigger discipline, It will really add to the fell of the event. -Cary

As state above...WW2 wasnt fought in all Forest!! We need towns, fields, farms and the bunkers would work...they were used to protect something valuable. My Idea is if we got some sort of beach we build 2 German Bunkers on a hill almost and put some MG nests and Tank traps on the bottom...I can dream no?...

There is a paintball place that has a europe theamed town at that we can rent out for the weekend, its called challange park and it also has praries and forrest ( I simply like the ide of having to move from one type of terrain to the next that inlcudes a town)

I lvoe challenge park! I am totally game for renting it out. Only problem is that it is a paintball field, and there is a chance of getting paint on your gear. I heard they had an Omaha beach replica that they only open once a year. Anybody know about this or is it complete BS?

You might have to get a permit to bulid stuff like that. But if you made them with 2x4s and ply wood it wouldn't take that long to build.

I voted town. Not only were towns a large part of the fighting in Europe, but also cause we could use it for mobsofting. But realistically WW2aa would need its own land or land that a WW2aa gives permission for them to build on. I did not vote on the wall because there was basicly only one day when there was fighting on the beaches at Normandy but many towns and villages were liberated in Europe. Click

Mainly, we would want a town...forrest would work too...but If were gonna do a forrest a road wouldnt be a bad idea...gravel anything would work really...Id love to make one it would be easier transport and prevent units from getting lost...Also If your gonna make a town, if possible a 2 story building would be kinda neat to have and streets would be kind of necessary...otherwise itll be another paintball park. The wall I said because It would be the most cost effective. Also It could be anything like, Normandy, Greece, Anzio...etc...use your imagination...
