A 98k? Could we possibly have the make of this rifle?
Marushin, Tanaka?
I'll just jump the gun on this issue, no pun intended, as I've owned both.
Marushin = Crap. They may be highly authentic looking, but that is where all good ends. The bolt holds little gas, hop-up is prone to malfunctioning, the bolt is badly built. There are creaks an' wobles everywhere, spare shells are very expensive, spare parts are hard to come by, an' 8mm BB are not as cheap as 6mm. I've got a bigger list, but I kept it short for you
Tanaka = Full of win and good. This gun is remarkably powerful, holds 10 shots in the mag, which last for 4-6 mag changes. It is simply built so less chance of breakage. Built of real wood and real metal. Strong, and durable. Accurate for a gas gun. The cost is worth it.

Airsoft Extreme has the Mountain carbine version in stock presently. Nice size and great gun. I don't like the light blond wood but that's easy to take care of.

um.... i dont think so.. 98k should have a bayonet attatchment,. what would restrict you from using it like a regular rifle?

It's missing the cleaning rod, easily fixed if it takes real ones.

Yes, it doesn't matter. It was the standard issue for German rifleman, so uhh...how could they NOT use it as a regular rifle? Not everyone had an MP40 or a MP44

I own both the k98's Tanaka and Marushin............. i would definetly go for the Tanaka before the Marushin
I would like to use the Marushin more often, IF i could get a ww2 limited ammo day.............. but up against hi-cap mags is NO fun, this gun is not good for a normal skirmish day

Is that about the tanaka or the marushin? I dont care if the tanaka is to slow they used the k98 against thompsons, BARS, and grease guns in ww2 so whats the difference here ? And i dont mind getting shot plus im sure my fellow comrades with their machine guns will protect me as i snipe.........right...........guys??

60+ years of experience. One of the reasons the Germans lost was the Allies not only had those lovely SMG's the main battle rifle was a semiauto. Having said that buy the Tanaka K98 It is a solid gun...very solid. If you buy a top MP40 just go ahead and buy the upgrades for it now and be done with it.

How many germans have a tanaka K98 over a mp40? It sounds like a lot of the axis team have k98s.

It is perfectly fine to only have K98's. Don't worry about having too many.
