i got my k98 today and the guy realy screwed it up the scope mount was glued on over thr bolt but it fell off in shipping i slid on the other scope and the rail is wobbly then their is the bolt i dont know if all of em do this but the back of the bolt would slip over and make it impossable to close then their is the stock its got a big gouge from the bolt (i believe while it was being shipped it was X-rayed after finding a gun they may have tryed to charg it with the bolt pice turned over) then the cleaning rod was bent up i sent it back and am hopping to get a refund then with that buy a new tanaka k98 (i guess i wont be at the event tommarow)

I say this because the 2 problems u described, are infact, not problems at all, and I would have been very interested in purchasing the gun.
To late I guess, I wonder if there going to give your money back, when infact you just didnt know how to operate the gun. Im not trying to be mean, Im just very aware of what happened.
People who have never fired the mauser before put alot of pressure on the firing mechanisim. They dont know it, but they wrist grinds into it, and twits the bolt out of the cocked posistion. Worse, when they dont see it, they push the bolt forward and the peice cuts into the wood.
Ive handed my mauser, that ive played 10+ games with, to someone, and they have jammed it in that same manner every shot. Then I took the gun back, and fired away with no problem. It just didnt work in their hands! Then they learn how to do it, and it never happens again.
Think of it this way, if you have a gas blow back pistol, would you obstruct the slide as you fire it? no, that would jam the gun. the same applys to the mauser,
Often the person is using the gun for the first time, and in their excitement they are trying to operate the bolt fast and hard, Like the real thing, and they REALLY put a gouge in the stock.
