Hello, I am trying to get into the WWII style of Airsoft, but I am stuck on what to get! I am wanting to be on the US side. I live in IN btw, so I don't know whether to get the Tommy *which is cool, but no Blowback*, The M1 Gurand(sp?), M1 Carbine *very rare it seems* or what? I was also wondering if it would be proper for a US Infrantry troop to use a Kar98?
Main reason I want to get into Airsoft..mainly the WWII events is for the realism of it all, thus I want weapons who acts/ functions real
Also, anyone know where I could get some Airsoft Gernades *us style* that's not a *one hit wonder*?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, PVT. Jason A Wolf. Squad Hopeful.

Ok no I dont think a Kar 98 (a german gun) should be used by a US trooper, Get a thompson or a garand they seem like pretty reliable guns. Just curious, not that you have to be do you know anything of the war? Just confused of when you said ( I want to be on the US side) in WW2 and WW2 airsoft we prefer the term Allies and Axis, the war wasnt just the US and Germany. And Im not saying this to be a @ss Just confused. Welcome aboard and willl you be coming to any of the future events in Illinios this year??

Ah sorry 'bout that. I was half asleep when I wrote that lol. I know enough of the war, mostly from movies, games, and the History Channel *which I know isn't the same thing* Also my girlfriends dad was mech during then on the Pacific Front. Hmm,I don't soppose I could make the excuse of *finding* or *picking* kar98 up hm? lol. Actually I am stuck between the Tommy and M1 *both the garand and the Carbine* I dout I will be, I want to get my stuff together, which may take a bit of time..since all I can save is 213 out of my check I get each month.. I'm on SSI..and for some reason, no one wants to hire me *shrugs* That's going to be another thing too, I know it'll put a damper on alot of people, but if anyone's passing through Indiana sometime *not in the near future* would they mind picking me up, I'm sure I could chip in for Gas or snacks or something.

O Just curious, not that you have to be do you know anything of the war? Just confused of when you said ( I want to be on the US side) in WW2 and WW2 airsoft we prefer the term Allies and Axis, the war wasnt just the US and Germany. And Im not saying this to be a @ss Just confused. Chill out, He's new to this forum, talking to people like that will only turn them AWAY from WWII airsoft. You were new once too, did people respond to you like that? How would you like it if people responded to your questions like that? All he said was he wanted to be US, it's not like he denied the fact that there was anyone else in the war. If you didn't want to be an ass, then why post something like that? I HAVE seen pictures of GI's with K98s, and I'm pretty sure he knew it was a German gun. I say get a thompson. It's an excellent weapon for begginers. It's very easy to maintain, the price is very good, there's no buying gas or losing ten dollar clips when they fly out all over the place. If you really want a gas powered weapon I'd have to go with the carbine, it's much less complicated and, IMHO, much more skirmishable.

x 2 on the Thompson hands down easiest begginer gun. save for the Garand down the way or better yet get an M14 and a Garand conversion kit.

Thanks for the recognition, Frank . I say you should get whatever gun you want. I am an Italian reenacter, and I have a thompson. The only thing we stress reguarding airosoft guns is that they are "period correct." If you want a 98K, get it, if you want a thompson, go with it. You're not going to get antagonized for having a gun that wasn't issued arms for the nation you pursue. Also, welcome to the ww2aa! Remember, no question is a 'dumb question' so ask and we will be happy to help. I hope to see you at some later events.

if you want a solid, simple, skirmishable gun then get a thompson. we all have the guns we would give an arm or leg for(mines the garand) so if you have the cash then get it. welcome to ww2aa

I think I may of talk my friend into joining me, under one condition, I buy the guns..he'll just buy his Impressions *uniform wise* fair enough I soppose, he wants a Thompson, I'm thinking Garand..I would get a Carbine..but everywhere I go..they're sold out.
Also, I would get a Thompson too, but I want to stay realistic on this..and technically not everyone and their grandma had one, it was only giving to I think Squad leaders..or higher ranking officers, everyone else either had BAR,M1 Carbine, or Garand, or grease gun. * I think*..wtf..a bug just swam in my tea *off topic! o.0*
Also, it's ok on the whole jumping on me thing LOL, I'm not really new to Airsoft..I have a G36C from Classic Army I used to skirmish with from time to time..until my battery decided to go and blow itself up *damn thing!*
Also,if there's anyone in or near Indiana PM,Email,or post me!
Sincerely, Pvt. Jason A Wolf, squadless as it was.

hears my 2 cents, if your looking for a cheap automatic gun i suggest the m3 greece gun insted of a thompson simply because i believe that they were more common. also with a lovely gas bolw back the shood be quite fun i suggest you read the review at the main page it is verry suggestive (ie i want one ) p.s. welcome to the fourms ;D

The Grease gun wasn't more common than the thompson and it is definately not a gun for begginers, it's not easy to maintain and performance isn't that great either.
Thompson FTW!

try to get the spelling down, lol... Anyways, no, the grease gun wouldn't have been as common at all, they didn't have enough production time compared to the thompson to get widespread use.
