I was at best Buy the other day and decided to buy the DVD set of one of my favorite TV shows growing up called "The Time Tunnel", which was about two scientists travelling through time. Anyway, included in the set was the pilot episode of a new "Time Tunnel" TV series from 2002 which I never even knew about until I bought the DVD. In the pilot, a group of scientists and soldiers must go back to World War II to the Battle of the Hurtgen forest in 1944 to rescue a monk from 1547 that had somehow gotten caught in the time storm and found himself in 1944. One of the scientists encounters his grandfather, an infantryman in the 5th ranger battallion, during the battle and offers him some words of wisdom and tells him he loves him because he knows this is the battle where he gets killed. A lot of good WWII battle footage and authentic gear, some obviously ripped off, errr, I mean "inspired" by "Saving Private Ryan". I think the funniest scene was where the Americans were disguised as German soldiers to fool some Falshirmjager officer into releasing a captive American. He introduced himself as "Colonel Klink" and his rather large assistant as "Schultz".

heh heh yeah, I loved that show when I was a kid. I guess it's what started my interest in history. Too bad they don't have shows like this anymore these days. It's all reality shows and dumb singing shows that have no educational value whatsoever.

unfortunately no, it was a pilot that was never aired and it's available as part of a DVD set of "The Time Tunnel" part 2. I was a big fan of the original "The Time Tunnel" so watching this pilot was a pleasant surprise. An even more pleasant surprise was that the storyline was from WWII. Here's some more screen caps: Fighting around a crashed B-17 Waypoint between time zones Fighting in the trenches Monitoring the past from the Time Tunnel complex "Don't interfere with history!" Female ranger Approaching a church Masquerading as "Colonel Klink"

Colonel Klink" and his rather large assistant as "Schultz".quote] Dang it, I hate it when people steal my ideas before I thought them. lol. I had never heard of this series or the WWII pilot and I had a guy get sucked back in time who steals a uniform and seargent's jacket. When inquisition into who he is, is made he stumbles a little before calling himself Sgt. Pepper. *cricket chirp* Well I thought it was funny.
