Kareem Al Jubbar wrote an excellent book about a little known all black tank battalion that served in Northern Europe under of all people George S Patton. The independent tank battalions were attached to Infantry divisions so their action was quite intense and almost non stop as they acted like "firemen" to plug any issues or spearhead any assaults as they came up. They (the individual tank battalions) on a per individual tank basis had the most frequent armor on armor action compared with the units within an armored division that were mostly used to exploit breakthroughs and exploitation missions.
It seems there story would be quite compelling on a lot of levels. Incidently Kareem is a real student of history and has always been fascinated with it.

funny you would mention that, the idea of the black tank unit (forgot the name of the unit) was explored in a video game, called "Call of Duty: Finest Hour" (Please, no arguments on which game is better). When I first played the game, I had no idea there was such a unit, and a series based on their tour would be very cool and informative! naturally, I would like to see an Italian perspective series as well

Yes the story of the 761st would be very neat to see. A lot of unrecognized heroes served in that unit, and it deserves its spot in the limelight. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._761st_Tank_BattalionThen again I'd like to see a mini series on the 442nd ;D. I think the Japanese perspective would be very interesting to see too. I'm really looking forward to seeing "Flags of Our Fathers" and the parallel movie shot from the Japanese point of view.
