Anyone think that a movie made using members of the WW2 Airsoft Association is a good idea? Most everyone here is a reenactor I persume and has access to WW2 era gear. If anyone is willing to pen a script I would love to read through it and help out.

I'm all for a movie. I was actually thinkign of compiling some of the rangers and Mill's movies (with his permission of course) and turning it into a promo for the ww2aa. The guys in all areas can contribute, just get a photographer/ filmer and put some clips together. I actually have alot of themes from war movies, and I don't know if we want the soundtrack themes, or rock or anything?

Yeah? If you choose to do a soundtrack theme dont do rock or anything because we want it to be known as WW2 Airsoft, we want airsoft and ww2 lovers joining. Not modern airsofters who want to join cause we played their favorite song...

I'd gladly pen a screenplay, as a film student I enjoy writing a lot.
Also, if you do use music, go for Django Reinhardt and other European swing music. I helped make a short WW2 film once for a fellow student, lots of fun, but he wanted to use rock music, but i persuaded him to use swing, it worked.

hmmm I could play an american paratrooper who falls in love with a french farm girl played by Scarlett Johanssen, and of course the role would require several torrid love and sex scenes, which of course I would gladly do take after take after take

Sounds like a good idea for a promo. But for everyone to put in their own footage and send it to someone or whatever will me a problem.

Why will that be a problem?
I was thinking, next Chicago event, we should get some good footage in, turn it into a promo.

Id like to film a ww2aa promo (with permission of moderators) for the midwest cause it seems more logical that if each section of the association, midwest, west coast, east coast and rocky mtn. If there are any members here in the midwest close to the city of chicago, if you have any property youd be willing to let us film on, thatd be great! Any actors/airsofters that wanna be in it please PM. Id love to film it, please let me know!

I think that filming some sort of promo is a great idea! I would be willing to back you up here in the chicagoland area Schutze. I am getting together a basic Hohenstaufen Uniform right now. We should all also consider getting more footage at the next Chicagoland event.

I agree, next chicago event, we should get some more footage in. Maybe a designated filmer (instead of the medic...)? TG, would it be possible to get Ethan back? As long as he gets alot of footage in, and puts it up within a reaosnable amount of time, I have no problems with him taking some footage. If not, I may be able to bring a guy out to film. I'm guessing he'll need the ww2aa waiver too?

I think we should put aside a day when we can just show off our uniform and guns you know instead of filming an event, some cameramen dont want to get to close to the action risking getting shot. I think we could do some acting with our guns sort of like a filiming day, We need property and a cameraman, and some axis soldiers and We can make one heck of a promo...

PS Thanks Jaeger and Spitfire....

Not that I can do this but I have an idea. Have World War 2 Airsoft Association - Chicago real small in the back come up slowly and bigger as it comes up and fill almost the whole screen. Then we should do like a dramatic intro like BOB and all. Then show some footy from the Allies and the Germans. Then have a dramatic outro and like a few people die and like on the Allies or German side a guy gets hit and hes yelling his name and for a medic repeatatly and just fade out in the middle of that. Then say World War 2 Airsoft Association - Chicago German actors.....blah American actors.....blah. Just thinking here.

Good Idea kippy. But, to show that we aren't ONLY located in chicago, we should have some of the guys from all over film some stuff and pool it to one person that is actually making/editing the film. natman, feel free to make a script. I can't gurantee we will use it, becuase we are not even sure we are going to have the resources to make a film yet, we should wait until we have a date when we can do this. Thanks for the offer!

I agree with Schutze. We should consider setting aside a day where we would just make a promo film and show off uniforms, guns, etc. I just don't know where we could meet. We should talk to Tommygunner. Also, we should compile videos from all over for this video like Spitfire said.

This could be a great way to promote WW2 airsoft, one thing y'all could do is just film Krauts and Yanks doing basic tactical manuevers to film some action sequences, then at a later point you could add a plot with added footage to the action sequences.
just a thought.

I like where this is going. I love making and editing movies. And your intro intro/closing ideas would be very simple to pull off, kippy.(about 5 minutes w/ Movie Maker.) Does anyone know when the next chicago event is? I wont have my imp until christmas.
BTW: where exactly are chicago events held? I live in Indiana.(45 mins from Indianapolis.)

Kippy, I'll send it to you through your email. Try to PM me by pressing the image that looks like a file with paper in it underneath my avatar. I am probably going to get a camcorder for christmas, becuase I need one for next semester's Film Production class, so I will get a good outdoors one. Frank, I'll PM you with a list of all of the soundtracks that I have. If you want to listen to some, I'll send the mp3 to you. BTW, cool script, I can see this project really turning some heads. EDIT: nevermind, I just found your email . I'll send you a copy

Thanks Spitfire, I hope that we can do it and I got some good Ideas for the camera angles, views and some tricks. Just to help anyone who doesnt understand, I would like everyone to do a little acting that is the Intro and then tape an event then edit that in. And by intro, i mean everyone not shooting anything at each other, just like a movie mode you know smoke, effects, non-pyrotechnic artillery explosions.

I am currently filming a WW2 film in Battle Creek MI and the surrounding area. I am not sure of the filming dates yet but help from local reenactors....Rangers and Airborne (gerneric I know) would be grealty appreciated. If anyone here is at all interested PM me. The script is finished, and i have my main actors, I need LOTS of extras though. Its about a few Rangers chosen for a routine mission, taking out a very small artillary battery. After fighting their way, the guns turn out to never have existed.................and the plot thickens from there.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. PLEASE PM ME.
