Reece - PPSh kits are extremely easy to find and many websites carry the part kits for under $150. All you need is a dummy receiver as the one in the kit will be torch cut to BATF standards.

Schmitty; You know you are a GOD to these guys! I remember seeing some of your early work. Great collection! Makes it hard for you to pick which one to use. Hope to get to meet you some day.

Ppsh-41 parts kits are now pretty much scrap metal. They are torch cut through the trunion making the whole barrel shroud useless unless you are a machinst or a welder. They can be crudely put together and probably made into a dummy gun but they would not be able to be field stripped. Thank the wonderful "soccer moms" for that new BATF law!

I can truthfully share with all of you, they all shoot as good as they look. Most are quite heavy and extremely solid. Deploying them is extremely authentic and firing them is every bit as fun as you might imagine. Schmitty is amazing and we are blessed in the NW to have him not only available but willing to share his great work at the various events held here in the Pacific Northwest. The PPsh stock is wood. Schmitty is obsessed with the fine details and always bothered by even the slightest discrepency where present.
He has the talent, tools, skills and desire to do it right. He has inspired me to attempt things I otherwise wouldn't have and his advice and assistance have been priceless.

John (2nd bat) your words are too kind, but I appreciate your high praise. I'm always trying to think of ways to build cost effective useful weapons that could be more mass produced but so far this has remained an allusive goal. I just ordered a TM MP7 so I can examine its gearbox for possible use in M1 carbine or M3 grease gun or ?
The PPSH41 parts kit that I used was torch cut through the trunnion. I welded it back together. It actually wasn't very hard since the trunnion pin held the pieces together in the correct location. I have a fairly cheap wire feed welder and I think most people would be surprised how easy they are to use.

I think the limited power provided by a TM MP7 along with its small size would be an asset to authenticity. For example to me it seems reasonable that the small size of a carbine or sub machine gun should experience the trade off of reduced range and power.
They (MP7s) still shoot pretty good and a semi-fully auto carbine is still going to have major advantages in most skirmishes over a "Cock it every time" gas gun. Seeing grease guns that are competitive on the airsoft field along with Thompsons will be awesome. I know you have some donor bodied Grease guns but if you need another let me know. I bought several of those Kappowe spring Greasers for that very purpose.

They are definitely not proportionate . Probably 10% to 15% more bulbous then actual dimensions. They also have some hokey attachements and such that are just plain wrong. Could be alterred or removed fairly easily. If cheap enough guts could be put in them and they worked they'd be a compromised step in the right direction anyway. Frankly there are probably enough gutted Hudason gas bodies around to be used but I was thinking the added space might make things easier and more straightforward.
As bad as they are they were cheap and provide a shell to facilitate some variation in US weaponry that might still be skirmishable. Since they said HUDSON right on them I thought they might have been the shells from the same mold. NOT!!!!!
