I was curious as to which game in your opinion is the best/ most realistic flight simulator of WW2 air combat. WW2OL and BF1942 feature first person flight sims, so I added those to the poll. Disregard any ground combat in those games. I said Targetware, because although it is lacking in sound, the game is NOT evenly balanced and made to realistic stats of airplanes, IE: a Hurricane is faster than a c.200, but isn't as maneuverable, but has a substantial amount of firepower, compared to the 2 x 12.5mm guns of the Macchi. The c.200's HE rounds do not greatly effect the hurricanes wood structure. If the pilots are equally skillful, the hurricane would have the edge. Fun game

I personally say Janes WW2 Fighters made back in 1998, when your playing it really feels like you in the aircraft, it reacts perfectly and the graphics still hold there own.

Personally I love IL2 1946. MS Combat Flight Sim 3 follows close behind in that it's not as good as IL2 but with it's modding capabilities, it really is an awesome game as well. Taking it to a WWI level, CFS3 has a fantastic total conversion mod called Over Flander's Field...free of course! BF1942 is a cool game in that if offers a wide variety of weapons and vehicles but really lacks in playability and graphics on the infantry level, grenades taking out tanks, etc. Flying really was the best aspect of the game imo. WW2OL...ok, I tried this game recently and I absolutely hate it. The models and graphics are worse than BF1942. Again, the flight sim aspect is the best part in this game, followed by realistic vehicle operation, as well as using real-world strategy by connecting all players to further their side's war effort. BUT...not worth the monthly fee whatsoever, to me anyways. Mike
